Brunswick Via Linda Results - 07/27/14

The event this weekend was another great one! We had 126 entries, 33 cashers, a 1 in 3.8 cash ratio and paid out over $6,000.00 in main and side event prizefunds. The players bowled on a very demanding 39ft Viper oil pattern that played a bit longer than 39ft due to the amount of volume of oil that was used. This was the first time that we have used the new version of the Viper pattern that was created for the world series of bowling. The pattern allowed for a variety of styles to compete. There was an out of bounds if you were further left, but for the straighter players there was just enough hook to play straight if you wanted to.

The event had a ton of new bowlers, which is always really exciting. We want to welcome Zac Bryan, Steve Nichols, Jason Satterlee, Josh Gaster, Paul Niebuhr, Leroy Espinoza, Trinette Green, Alex Flores, Joe Demrath, Pete Santucci, Louis Schwarz, Jimmy Mattocks, Penny Brackett, Tony Maresca, and Anthony, Surratt to the Strike Force Tour family. It is absolutely incredible that over 2 years after our very first event, we would still have 15 people come to bowl in their very first event. I can't thank all of the members enough for how often they recommend friends to come, bowl and have a good time with them.

Also congrats to some bowlers that made their first ever quarter finals this weekend. We are excited to have a club that has so many different people having success. Congrats to DeAngello Truillo, Jay White, Kirk Ramsey, Zack Bryan, and Penny Brackett on advancing to their first ever SFT AHT quarter finals this weekend. Also congrats to Ron Gonzales, Chuck Lucas and Kirk Ramsey on showing the power of the parlay this weekend and advancing to the quarter finals off of the $25 economy parlay.

The great thing about this event was the final match and tournament winner. The final match was a great sign as to what is so great about the new 3 division system that the members have come up with. We had a 150 average bowler, 180 average bowler and a 220 average bowler in the final match competing for $1,000.00. The other thing that was clearly evident, is that anyone at any point in time can win an event. If you can get hot at the right times, it doesn't matter if you are bowling in your first event, or your 100th event. Our tournament champion, Penny Brackett since the 2011/12 season has bowled one league a week and averaged between 152 and 156 in every single league in the last 3 years. She bowls mainly to spend time with her husband Bill Brackett and son Jeff Brackett. Little did she expect that she would come out and beat both of them and everyone else for $1,000.00! She bowled better and better as the day went on. She snuck into the quarter finals through the senior & women's division with a +61, then in the semi-finals did a little bit better with +68. She capped off her tournament with her highest two scores of the tournament! She threw a nice 256 and 247 with handicap in the semi-finals and finals to be our third lady to win a standard event title and our first senior lady to do it! Congrats to Peggy! Make sure you let your league teammates know that Peggy is proof that people can win in their first event with the SFT AHT!

We look forward to seeing you all at our next event at Starlite lanes in Flagstaff, AZ. It is going to be beautiful weather and a lot of fun seeing who is going to take home the $1,000.00! See you all there!
