Brunswick Mesa

Bowlero Mesa - 3/1/2020

Our event this weekend was a huge one! 114 entries with 78 qualifying entries, and 36 economy parlay entries! We not only paid out $1,000.00 for first, but also increased the semi-final checks to $180 and 3rd place to $400! The players bowled on a very difficult 48ft Eiffel Tower pattern that forced players to play the lanes pretty straight due to a lack of friction which comes from such a long oil pattern. Seemed like players of all styles could find a line. If they were more speed dominant, they were right of the 3rd arrow pointing it at the pocket. As the player became more and more rev dominant, they would play the lanes further and further left, but still be aiming at the pocket pretty much.

Brunswick Mesa - 2/10/2019

We had a huge turnout today with 142 entries (88 qualifying entries and 54 economy parlay entries), a 1 in 4 cash ratio and paid out over $6,000.00 in main and side event prize fund. The players bowled on a very tough 37ft Melbourne oil pattern that took an average cut score of +24 to advance to the quarter finals, which meant if you barely bowled your average each game you would still have made the cut! The players mainly played the outside part of the lane on the fresh, but as the day went on there were more players that were able to move to the inside part of the lane. Even in the later squads, the majority of players still played right of the 2nd arrow, but the scores didn’t really go up at all the last squad.

Brunswick Mesa - 12/9/18

Wow! What an event! What a conclusion to our 2018 season! Not only was it a huge turnout, but it had a lot of excitement as well! The event had 114 total entries (77 qualifying & 37 economy parlay), 31 cashers, a 1 in 3.6 cash ratio and paid out over $6,000.00 in main and side event prize fund. The players bowled on a 37ft Melbourne oil pattern that, as a short pattern, you would think would be high scoring, but it wasn’t that at all. The qualifying cut scores were all pretty low with it taking an average of +13 to advance to the quarter finals which isn’t even bowling average! It seemed that as the lanes started to carry down more, and the balls hooked less, it became spotty and difficult from pair to pair which really kept scoring low.

Brunswick Mesa - 9/3/18

Our 2018 Labor Day weekend major has come to an end and it was a big one as expected! The event drew 226 total entries (161 qualifying entries & 65 economy parlay), had 61 cashers, a 1 in 3.7 cash ratio and paid out over $12,000.00 in main and side event prize fund. As always, the majors always seem to offer everything! Big turnouts, big payouts, difficult lane conditions, exciting finishes, 9th and 10th frame roll offs and clutch finishes. We will get to all of them and more in this summary, but let's start off with the pattern. It was a 43ft custom oil pattern that played very difficult. It allowed some players to play further right, but for the most part, the players that did the best were closer to the middle of the lane giving a small belly. Most people were commonly playing 15-19 at the arrows throwing it out to 15-12 down lane. The cut scores throughout the weekend were pretty low averaging around +50 for all of the divisions for all of the days.

Brunswick Mesa - 7/1/18

Our event this weekend was at Brunswick Mesa lanes. This was the first event of our 2018 Summer Circuit and the event had a great turnout with 101 entries (67 qualifying entries and 34 economy parlay), 29 cashers and 1 in 3.5 cash ratio and paid out over $4,500.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on a very difficult 40ft PBA Bear oil pattern that had some of the lowest scores of the season. The pattern allowed players to play from any angle, but the key was trying to make high quality shots and to make your spares. There were quite a few people who thought that the scores would maybe go up the last squad as the lanes would have some more play on them by then. However, this didn’t happen at all, as the cut score stayed pretty much the same in all three divisions from squad 1 to squad 3.
