Bowlero Gilbert - 3/30/25

Location:

Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Gilbert and we had one of our lighter turnouts of the season. We had 78 total entries (62 qualifying and 16 economy parlays) with 24 prize winners and a 1 in 3.25 cash ratio, paying out $3,636 in prize funds. The players bowled on the 40ft Highway to Hell oil pattern that provided a medium scoring pace throughout the event with scores that were kind of all across the board.

Mike Hodge hit the Momma’s Mystery Score in the first squad for $500 with a score of 184! It was then hit again in the second squad by Justin O’Donnell with a score of 208!  Your winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was Bobby Steele!

There were 24 competitors who made it to the cashers round. The A Division would see 669 (+69) emerge as the #1 seed and his opponent would be Quinten Bell (+65). The B Division would have Payton Steele (+89) as the #1 seed, and he would take on Charles Halse (+49). The C Division would see Michael Nquyen (+85) as your #1 seed and his opponent would be Gary Roff (+71).

The A Division match had an unusual occurrence with it being a match of the Quintens! Quinten Fincham would play Quinten Bell in a really close, high-scoring match, with Fincham winning 244-241. The B Division match would be close, but Payton was able to take the win over Charles, 220-192. The C Division match was more of a blowout, with Michael winning over Gary, 224-145.

Going into the Finals, Payton Steele would be looking to add a second title where the other two finalists would be looking for their first AHT SFT title and along with the $910 first place prize.

The finals would start off with Michael staying clean and both Payton and Quinten leaving some opens out there early on. Halfway through with Michael having a decent lead, he would end up tossing a 4-bagger in frames 4-7, which would separate him from the other two pretty quickly in the latter part of the match. Payton, however, was trying to make a comeback with putting some strikes together in the later frames as well. Michael finished with open-strike-open, which would allow Payton the opportunity to double and get 8 pins to win the title. Payton aced the first shot in the tenth, getting the first hit. The second shot would leave a stone 9 pin, falling just short, meaning that Michael would win his first Strikeforce Title along with the $910 first place prize. Final scores were 250 (Michael) - 242 (Payton) - 181 (Quinten).
