Shake Rattle & Bowl - 11/6/16

We had our annual event in Camp Verde, AZ this weekend. It’s always a great time at Cliff Castle Casino and Shake, Rattle and Bowl. Saturday’s event was the real exciting surprise. We always have a fun event on Saturdays of the out of town events to allow the locals to get a feel for the tournament and the lane conditions. Well the northern bowling community came out strong with nearly 20 new bowlers who have never bowled a SFT AHT event before! We saw new bowlers take home both the tournament win and the mixed bounty title. Congrats to Terry Herb & Joe Wolf on the tournament win and Terry Herb and Jasmine Martinez on the mixed bounty title. While the doubles tournament was a positive surprise, the Sunday standard event wasn’t as great. With 40 total entries (20 Qualifying & 20 Economy Parlay) that mainly consisted of the same local bowlers we certainly owe this events moderate success to the awesome bowlers in Camp Verde. Hopefully some more bowlers from the valley will come up to challenge the locals next time. The event still had a 1 in 3 cash ratio and paid out over $1,000.00 in main and side event prize fund. The players bowled on a very hooking Route 66 oil pattern that yielded some of the highest scores we have ever seen requiring at least +120 to make the cut.

We want to welcome all of the awesome new bowlers that joined us for this event. Jake Tucker, Jacob Wolfe, Freddy Fields, Anna Chavez, Linda Hodge, Chris Muncy, James Battise, Tennielle Gabaldon, Brian Williams, Gabe Allison, Jasmine Martinez, Holly Rich, Terry Herb, Joseph Wolfe, Shawn Smith, Kenneth Greene, Paul Crowther, Herbert Keppel, Jeff Meidlinger, Brandon Ely, and Gary Allison, we’d like to welcome all of you to the growing SFT AHT family! We hope you all had a great time and look forward to seeing you again.

We want to congratulate Jake Tucker, Shawn Smith, Jasmine Martinez, and Terry Herb for being this event’s first time quarter finalists. We are always excited to see first time bowlers coming out and having fair shot at advancing and even winning. Also, a special congrats to Shawn Smith who was our only Parlay Power Player this weekend.

The quarter finals were a real shoot out with more huge scores. Ernie Mendoza was the lowest advancing series at +115 and was the #3 seed compared to Jasmine Martinez’s +183 and #1 seed Jason Satterlee’s +186.

The finals took the story of it being a high scoring weekend and put an exclamation point at on it! We had the highest scoring final match of all time with scores of 267, 270, and 287 with handicap for the players. First Jason struck out in the 10th to finish at 267 and put all the pressure on Jasmine and Ernie. Jasmine made a decent shot but left the 2-4-5, but was able to convert the spare and get 9 in the fill to lock up 2nd place at the minimum and needed Ernie to either get bad first ball count or open. Ernie didn’t make the greatest shot, it crept a little high but tripped out the 10 pin to lock up his 3rd SFT AHT title!

Thanks to the awesome Camp Verde bowing community for coming out and we look forward to seeing all of you at either our tournament partner’s event on Nov. 13th (ACBA), or at our next even on Nov. 27th. See you all then!
