Bowlero Kyrene - 3/8/2026

Location:

Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Kyrene and we had a good turnout. We had a total of 77 entries (52 qualifying and 25 economy parlays) with 18 prize winners and a 1 out of 4.28 cash ratio, paying out $3,090 in prize funds. The players bowled on the 41 ft 2025 U.S. Open Pattern #4, known as the speed bump/space invader pattern, known for its unusual appearance on an oil graph. This oil pattern provided a lower scoring pace throughout the event, but the few who found something were able to have some score.

Nobody hit the Momma’s Mystery Score so that money will continue to rollover to our next event at AMF McRay! Your winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was dErnie Mendoza!

There were 14 competitors who made it to the cashers round, plus two exemptions used by Alex Olson and Chase Rohlik. Coming out of the A Division would be Alec Johnson (+74) vs. Drew Merrell (+54). Their match would be close, but a late missed single pin by Alec would be all Drew needed to move on to the finals, 207-185. The B Division would see newcomer Ryan Doyle (+73) vs. Jericho Gaydos (+15) and Jericho would win that higher-scoring match, 237-219. Coming out of the C Division would be Tyler Higbee (-3) and he would move on straight to the finals.

We would have a mix of bowlers in the finals, with Drew looking for his 2nd title, while Jericho and Tyler would be looking for their first. Finals started off with a couple of blemishes from Drew, while Tyler and Jericho were able to remain clean. However, both Tyle and Jericho had some later opens that allowed Drew to slightly creep back in. In the final frames, Tyler came up with a clutch double, which allowed him to get 9 on the first shot in the 10th to shut out the other two competitors. His shot would come up slightly high and would leave a 3-10. He needed to make it and keep the ball on the lane to win and Tyler did exactly that, earning his 1st title along with the $920 top prize. The final scores were 208 (Higbee) - 200 (Gaydos) - 180 (Merrell).

Thank you to everyone that came out this weekend to bowl our tournament. We can’t run tournaments like these without you guys! Thanks to Jay Jay and the entire staff at Bowlero Kyrene for having us out this weekend. As always, if you have any feedback, please let us know how we can further accommodate bowlers and improve our tournaments. We’ll be back in two weeks at AMF McRay for another standard 2-squad event. Hope to see ya there!
