Bowlero Union Hills

Location:

Our event this weekend was at AMF Mesa and we had a decent turnout. We had a total of 77 entries (65 qualifying and 12 economy parlays) with 24 prize winners and a 1 in 3.21 cash ratio, paying out $3,660 in prize funds. The players bowled on the 48ft Eiffel Tower oil pattern that provided a higher scoring pace throughout the event.

Juan Brooks hit the Momma’s Mystery Score with a 188 for $500!! Your winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was Shannon Perkins!

There were 20 competitors who made it to the cashers round plus Michael Arce and Mike Rhoads who both chose to use their earned exemptions. Coming out of the A Division were Charles Halse (+81) and Kyler Adams (+71). Their match would see Charles emerge, winning in a well bowled match where both players were clean, over Kyler 239-194. The B Division would see James Roethle (+83), Shannon Perkins (+77), and Marcus Haley (+77) advance to the B Division title match. The B division match would see James (221) move on, winning over Marcus (195) and Shannon (178). Coming out of the C Division would be Ming Shih (+67) and Kevin Duong (+62). The C Division title match would see Ming advancing over Kevin, 212-174.  Going into the Finals, all of our finalists would have titles. Ming was looking for his second, Charles looking for his 3rd, and James looking for his 4th title.

The finals would be have a turn of events as scores were relatively high through most of the event. Halfway through the match, no one had really taken control of the match because every bowler had opens left and right. Everyone could tell that the winner of this match would just need to grind and stay clean. James would emerge to be the bowler who would put some clean frames together to get right up to his average which would be enough to triumph over his other two competitors and to lock up his 4th title, along with the $770 top prize. Final scores were 200 (Roethle) - 185 (Shih) - 174 (Halse).
