Our event this weekend was at Let it Roll and we had a lower turnout. We had a total of 50 entries (36 qualifying and 14 economy parlays) with 13 prize winners and a 1 out of 3.85 cash ratio, paying out $2,150 in prize funds. The players bowled on a very difficult 2025 USBC Queens oil pattern. This oil pattern provided a very low scoring pace, with cuts bein in the -10 to -30 range.
No one hit the Momma’s Mystery Pot so that money will roll over to our next event at AMF McRay. The winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was David McComb!
There were 10 competitors who made it to the cashers round, plus an exemption used by Chase Rohlik. We would see Dave Inoshita (+40) and Justin O’Donnell (-35) coming out of the A Division. Their match would be close, with Dave Inoshita taking control in the end, winning the game 198-164. The B and C Divisions would both advance 1 bowler each, with both of those bowlers moving on straight to the finals. Coming out of the B Division, would be Patrick Yarns (-1) and coming out of the C Division would be newcomer Brian Parker (+76).
In the finals, we would have a two time titleist, Dave, looking for title #3, where Patrick and Brian would be looking for their first. The finals started off with Jack and Patrick both having 4 opens in the first 5 frames. Dave was able to stay clean for the first half so he was already able to make up all of the handicap through the first half of the game. However, Dave would have a late open that made things interesting. Patrick was still quite a bit behind, however, Brian was able to turn things around, as he caught a double that launched himself right into this match. Dave was finishing first and would nee a double to shut Brian out and unfortunately, he pulled the ball, getting 6, leaving the difficult 1-3-6-10. Dave would step up and get 3, leaving the door wide open for Brian to mark for the title. Brian, in his first event with us, went up and struck 3 times for his first tile along with the $625 top prize. The final scores with handicap were 222 (Parker) - 198 (Inoshita) - 156 (Yarns).
