Brunswick Mesa Results - 10/26/14

Location:

We had another fun weekend bowling for some big bucks and hanging out with all of the SFT AHT family members. We had 115 entries for the weekend, which kept our 100 entry streak alive. The event also had 32 cashers, a 1 in 3.6 cash ratio and paid out over $5,000.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on a very demanding 39ft Viper oil pattern. The scoring was very low again this weekend with most of the cut scores forcing the players to bowl average or slightly above average. The pattern did allow for many angles of attack, which had players of all styles having success. No matter the style, most players did say that the pair to pair differences were much tougher this weekend.

We had some exciting payouts this weekend with two players winning huge money from Momma's Mystery Score. First, James Roethle won $260 with a score of 176 and then Charlie Price won $500 with a score of 231! We also had Carter Smith, David Acosta, and David Ugorowski make their first ever SFT AHT quarter finals. Carter and David both also made it to the quarter finals all the way through the economy parlay! Congrats to all of those players on their success this weekend!

We want to welcome all of the new bowlers from this weekend to the SFT AHT family! Kay Acosta, Bryan Strait, Brian Market, Steve Slifka, Joe Bushnell, and Brad Erickson, we hope you all had a good time in your first event with us! We look forward to seeing you all at your next SFT event!

Our semi-final matches consisted of #1 seed Sean Ashley squaring off against #2 seed Kevin Enomoto for the A Division title. #1 seed Charlie Price vs #2 seed Bill Brackett for the B division title, and #1 seed Carter Smith vs #2 seed Chuck Lucas for the C division title. The A and B division matches weren't too close with Kevin Enomoto and Charlie Price taking early leads and keeping them. The real nail biter was between Chuck Lucas and Carter Smith who posted two HUGE scores. Carter opened in the 10th frame to give Chuck the opprotunity to strike out in the 10th frame to win. Chuck threw a great shot on the first one, but an errand shot on the second gave Carter the C division title!

This was a very cool title match as it was a big weekend for all three bowlers. Kevin Enomoto broke his streak of back to back events not making the quarter finals and was looking to not only win his first SFT AHT title this season, but was also looking to retake the lead in the Player of the Year points race. Charlie Price was having a huge weekend with winning Momma's Myster Score for a whopping $500 and was in his first ever SFT AHT title match. Carter was about as on fire as you can get. He made it to his first ever quarter finals, and did so through the economy parlay. This meant he had parlayed his way all the way to the finals in his first ever quarter finals appearance. The question, was who was going to win it all?

Well, the match proved to be very exciting. Although it wasn't in the finish, all three players seems to be very focused and not in the least bit nervous. Kevin Enomoto started off with the front 6 strikes and still never had a huge lead on the other guys. However, he never opened after that to give them an opening which allowed him to not only bowl his highest game of the tournament, but gave him his first SFT AHT title this season and the lead back in the Player of the Year race.

Congrats to everyone and their success this weekend! We are excited to be making our return back to AMF Chandler Lanes in a couple weeks and we look forward to seeing you all there!
