Memorial Day Event Info & Results

Bowlero Union Hills - 5/10/26

Location:

Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Union Hills and we had a very low turnout. We had a total of 32 entries (27 qualifying and 5 economy parlays) with 12 prize winners and a 1 out of 2.67 cash ratio, paying out $1,550 in prize funds. The players bowled on the 37 ft Bat oil pattern. This oil pattern provided a medium to high scoring pace.

No one hit the Momma’s Mystery Pot so that money will roll over to the Memorial Day Major at Bowlero Kyrene. The winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was Rick Mayber!

There were 8 competitors who made it to the cashers round, plus two exemptions used by Chase Rohlik and Charles Halse. Coming out of the A Division were Chase Rohlik (+155) and Charles Halse (+54). That match would be close up until the 8th frame where Chase would open and let Charles run away with the win, 216-185. The B Division would have Jeff Kraus (+118) emerge from the cashers round and he would move on straight to the finals. Coming out of the C Division would be Paul Schuler (+24) and he would move on straight to the finals.

In the finals, Charles Halse would be looking for title number 4, where Jeff would be looking for his second, and newbie Paul would be making his first finals appearance. Finals started off hot with Charles having the front 4, but Jeff would be on his tail as he would go strike, 9 spare, triple to stay close on his tail. Paul wasn’t bowling a bad game, but he quickly fell behind as this match clearly became a strike fest between Jeff and Charles, and it seemed like the first to blink would fall just short. Both players through 7 frames only missed once, but Jeff had the advantage since he had a couple more pins of handicap. Charles did not strike in the 8th frame which allowed Jeff to breathe a little easier going in to the 9th and 10th frames. Jeff did what he needed, shooting a big 257 scratch game to secure title #2 along with the $300 top prize. The final scores with handicap were 286 (Kraus) - 241 (Halse) - 224 (Schuler).

Thank you to everyone that came out this weekend to bowl our tournament. We can’t run tournaments like these without you guys! Thanks to the entire staff at Bowlero Union Hills for having us out this weekend. As always, if you have any feedback, please let us know how we can further accommodate bowlers and improve our tournaments.
