Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Union Hills and we had a decent turnout. We had a total of 61 entries (43 qualifying and 18 economy parlays) with 14 prize winners and a 4.36:1 cash ratio, paying out $2,515 in prize funds. The players bowled on the 42 ft Autobahn oil pattern that provided a medium to higher scoring pace throughout the event, but the few who found something were able to have some score.
Nobody hit the Momma’s Mystery Score so that money will continue to rollover to our next event at Bowlero Kyrene! Your winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was Joe Jacquez!
There were 11 competitors who made it to the cashers round. Coming out of the A Division would be Douglas Bukauskas (+70), moving on directly to the finals. The B Division would see Brian Jackson (+56) vs. Alex Olson (+40) and Alex would get a clutch strike when he needed it, forcing Brian to double in the tenth. Unfortunately, he wrapped a 10-pin, and that would mean Alex would move on to the finals (243-230). Coming out of the C Division would be Sinatra Grace (+169), shooting the biggest set of the tournament and he would move on straight to the finals.
We would have a mix of bowlers in the finals, with Alex looking for his 3rd title, Douglas looking for his 2nd title, and Sinatra, a first time finalist, looking for his 1st title. The finals would start off tight with no one really pulling ahead. Halfway through the match, everyone would take their turn at stumbling and then striking to make up for it. However, Alex was the only bowler who could continue the strikes through the later part of the game, and getting one really lucky hit to secure his 3rd title along with the $825 top prize. The final scores were 242 (Olson) - 214 (Grace) - 194 (Bukauskas).
