Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Mesa and we had a good turnout for it being Father’s Day. We had a total of 94 entries (73 qualifying and 21 economy parlays) with 26 prize winners and a 1 in 3.62 cash ratio, paying out $4,180 in prize funds. The players bowled on the Kegel Arsenic pattern that provided a lower-medium scoring pace throughout the event.
No one hit the Momma’s Mystery Score today so that money will rollover to our next event at Bowlero Avondale. Your winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was Micah Coleman!
There were 21 competitors who made it to the cashers round, plus Michael Arce who used one of his earned exemptions, for a total of 22 players. All divisions would result in having 2 bowlers advance to each division finals. Coming out of the A Division was Chase Rohlik (+149) and Brett Wolfe (+126). Brett would get out to the early lead, while Chase started with some spares. However, Chase would start putting a string while Brett would give him the opening that he needed for him to win the match. Chase would move on to the finals with the final score being and the C division would see Eddie Lucas (+90) emerge. The B Division title match would see Taylor Esping (+93) versus Richard Perez (+23). The match would be a blowout with Taylor confidently winning the match over Richard, 219-165. The C Division title match would see James Strang (+10) versus Lordan Ferguson (+9). The match would be another blowout with Lordan beating James, 230-184.
Going into the Finals, both Taylor and Lordan would be looking for their first AHT SFT title whereas Chase would be looking for his third title.
The finals would start off very tight, as there was no clear person taking the lead. Just over halfway through the match, there would be a tiny separation, as Taylor would start to slightly fall behind. A couple mistakes would however tighten the match right back up again. Everyone watching were mostly rooting for Lordan to win since he was not in progressive pot, meaning if he won everyone else would get a boost in pay. He had control going into the tenth, and needing a mark to win, he would step up and get all ten to secure his first title. He would walk away with $600 for first (with no progressive). Taylor would take second for $650 and Chase would finish 3rd for $415. Final scores were 199 (Ferguson) - 186 (Esping) - 182 (Rohlik).
