Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Mesa and we had a lower turnout. We had a total of 53 entries (45 qualifying and 8 economy parlays) with 17 prize winners and a 3.12:1 cash ratio, paying out $2,665 in prize funds. The players bowled on the 2020 Team USA Trials Day 4 - Men oil pattern that provided a lower scoring pace throughout the event.
No one hit the Momma’s Mystery Score so that money will roll over to our next event in 2026. Your winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was Lee Fitzgerald!
There were 15 competitors who made it to the cashers round. Coming out of the A Division would be Jake Howell (+59) and Chase Rohlik (+48). Their match would be a close match the entire way, with both bowlers starting off hot, and then stumbling a little in the middle of the game. Jake would end up opening in the 10th to allow Chase to get the first hit in the 10th to move on to the finals, 187-174. The B Division title match would see Will Fitzgerald (+30) vs. Marcus Haley (+7) and their match would end up going to Will, 200-168. Coming out of the C Division would be Tiffany Reese (-48) and she would move on straight to the finals.
We would have a mix of people in the finals, with Will and Tiffany looking to claim their first titles, whereas Chase would have the experience, just capturing Player of the Year and looking to add his 3rd title. The finals would start off with a couple early open frames from Will where Tiffany and Chase would remain clean. Chase would connect in the middle of the game to take a slight lead. Going into the 10th, Will was already shutout, and Chase could step up with ball in hand and needing one strike for the win and he would leave the 3-6-9-10. Chase would shoot the spare straight, and made it with no problem, which would now put the pressure on Tiffany who would now need a double and good count. Tiffany would step up and get the first hit and would get 9 on ball number two to come up just a bit short. This would secure Chase a dream day by winning the final event of the season to secure the Player of the Year title along with the $650 top prize for the tournament title! The final scores were 211 (Rohlik) - 206 (Reese) - 166 (Fitzgerald).
Thank you to everyone that came out this weekend to bowl our tournament. We can’t run tournaments like these without you guys! Thanks to the entire staff at Bowlero Mesa for having us out this weekend. As always, if you have any feedback, please let us know how we can further accommodate bowlers and improve our tournaments. We’ll be back next year for an even better 2026. Our kickoff event will be a standard 2-squad event on 1/11/26 at AMF Mesa. Hope to see ya there! Happy Holidays!!
