Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Mesa and we had a medium turnout. We had a total of 76 entries (61 qualifying and 15 economy parlays) with 21 prize winners and a 1 in 3.62 cash ratio, paying out $3,585 in prize funds. The players bowled on the 37 ft PBA Bat oil pattern that provided a medium to higher scoring pace throughout the event.
No one hit the Momma’s Mystery Score so that money will roll over to our next event. Your winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was Ken Hall!
There were 18 competitors who made it to the cashers round. Coming out of the A Division was Chase Rohlik would move straight on to the finals with a score of 725. The B Division would see Jay White (+83) vs. Ken Davis (+52). Their match would be a lower scoring match that would fall in the hands of Jay, 189-160. The C Division would see Tracy Miller (+94) vs. Jon Taylor (+53). Their match would favor Tracy as she would win easily, 232-167.
The finals would start off with Chase and Tracy having slower starts, while Jay was able to take a bit of an early lead. Chase would attempt a comeback later in the game. Going into the 10th frame, Chase needed a double to force Jay to mark and he would go up and not strike, giving Jay the opportunity to win by just getting a couple of pins on his first shot. He easily did that, and would go home with the $1,015 top prize and his first title! The final scores were 245 (White) - 213 (Rohlik) - 169 (Miller).
Thank you to everyone that came out this weekend to bowl our tournament. We can’t run tournaments like these without you guys! Thanks to Kat and the entire staff at Bowlero Mesa for having us out this weekend. As always, if you have any feedback, please let us know how we can further accommodate bowlers and improve our tournaments. We’ll be back in two weeks at AMF Desert Hills for another standard 2-squad event. See ya there!
