Memorial Day Event Info & Results

Bowlero Via Linda - 6/28/26

Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Via Linda and we had a medium-low turnout. We had a total of 60 entries (38 qualifying and 22 economy parlays) with 16 prize winners and a 1 out of 3.75 cash ratio, paying out $2,245 in prize funds. The players bowled on the 46 ft 2024 Jr. Gold Qualifying Pattern #4 U18 Boys oil pattern. This oil pattern provided a medium to higher scoring pace.

No one hit the Momma’s Mystery Pot so that money will roll over to our next event at AMF Mesa. The winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was Ernie Mendoza!

There were 10 competitors who made it to the cashers round, plus two exemptions used by Chase Rohlik and Alex Olson. Coming out of the A Division, would be Ernie Mendoza (+128) and Rick Mayber (+81). Their A division math would end up be ing a little lower scoring and it would see Ernie Mendoza winning 203-183. Coming out of the B Division, would be Bryton Bobbitt with +91. Coming out of the C Division, would be Chuck Lucas with +53.

In the finals, Ernie would have all the experience as he would be looking for his 7th title as well as back-to-back titles whereas Bryton and Chuck would be looking for their 2nd and 4th titles, respectively. The finals started off with Ernie taking an early lead, as he would have a little string early. Midway through the match, both Bryton and Chuck would have some opens which would grow Mendoza’s lead. Going into the final frames, Ernie would need pins need a mark, which he would easily do, which would be enough for his 7th title, winning back-to-back events, and the $580 top prize. Ernie is the first back-to-back champion in over 9 years! The last person to do it was Michael Fitzgerald all the way back on 6/17/17. The final scores with handicap were 264 (Mendoza) - 226 (Lucas) - 207 (Bobbitt).
