Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Kyrene and we had a lower turnout. We had a total of 49 entries (32 qualifying and 17 economy parlays) with 12 prize winners and a 1 out of 4.08 cash ratio, paying out $1,960 in prize funds. The players bowled on the 38ft 2019 Atlanta oil pattern. This oil pattern provided a medium to lower scoring pace.
No one hit the Momma’s Mystery Pot so that money will roll over to our next event at Bowlero Kyrene. The winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was Ernie Mendoza!
There were 8 competitors who made it to the cashers round, plus an exemption used by Chase Rohlik. We would see one person making out of the cashers round in each division, with those three bowlers moving on straight to the finals. Coming out of the A Division would be Chase Rohlik with +49. Coming out of the B Division, would be Jeff Kraus with +63. Coming out of the C Division, would be Jack Sarvis with +107.
In the finals, we would have all 3 titleists looking to add titles to their collection. The finals started off with Jack staying clean with both Jeff and Chase making early blemishes to set them back slightly. About half way through, Jeff would start a comeback with a 3 bagger. Chase, unfortunately, had a couple of opens that would dig himself a big hole. Jack, still with the control, stepped up in the tenth frame and stayed clean, forcing a double out of Jeff. Jeff would not strike, meaning that Jack would win his 3rd title, claim the $680 top prize, and become just the 3rd bowler to ever win back-to-back events. This is also a rare moment as Ernie just last month became the 2nd person ever to do it after a 9 year drought, and then it happens back to back months! The final scores with handicap were 232 (Sarvis) - 229 (Kraus) - 179 (Rohlik).
