Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Kyrene and we had a large turnout. We had a total of 83 entries (68 qualifying and 15 economy parlays) with 23 prize winners and a 1 in 3.61 cash ratio, paying out $3,980 in prize funds. The players bowled on the 34ft 2025 PBA Wolf oil pattern that provided a low scoring pace throughout the event. Tayler Esping hit the Momma’s Mystery Score with a 154 for $429!! Your winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was Chris Huskins!
There were 19 competitors who made it to the cashers round plus Mike Rhoads who chose to use one of his earned exemptions. Coming out of the A Division were Dave Inoshita (+68), Myles Hamilton (+65) and Tim Eichhorn (+19). Their match would see be a close one, coming all the way down to the final shots. However, it would be Dave who would find himself moving on to the finals, with scores being 238 (Inoshita) - 218 (Eichhorn) - 207 (Hamilton). The B Division would see Mike Rhoads (+79) vs. Justin Surat (+47). Their match would be a low scoring thriller, with Justin being victorious, 180-162. The C Division would have Matt Diamond moving on straight to the finals since there were only 4 cashers (need at least 6 to advance more than one person).
Going into the Finals, Justin and Dave would be looking to add titles to their collection, where as Matt would be making the finals for the first time ever.
The finals would be a close fight between the players and would come down to the final frames. On this lower scoring pattern, it seemed to cause troubles for players to be able to find a look for more than a couple of frames, and that seemed to be the case here in the finals. No one really to the reins and we would find the 10th frame to come down to one double forces the other player to double. Dave would step up first, and clutch his way to getting all 3 strikes in the tenth to shut out Justin and force Matt to do the same thing. Unfortunately for Matt, he would not get the double he needed and that would result in a 3rd title for Dave along with the $1,100 top prize. Final scores were 204 (Inoshita) - 192 (Diamond) - 187 (Surat).
