Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Christown and we had a good turnout. We had a total of 52 entries (38 qualifying and 14 economy parlays) with 14 prize winners and a 1 out of 3.71 cash ratio, paying out $2,115 in prize funds. The players bowled on the 39 ft Chameleon oil pattern. This oil pattern provided a medium scoring pace throughout the event, but the few who found something were able to have some score.
No one hit the Momma’s Mystery Score so that money will rollover to AMF Chandler. Your winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was Ming Shih!
There were 10 competitors who made it to the cashers round, plus one exemption used by Chase Rohlik. Coming out of the A Division would be parlay winner Alec Johnson (+117) and he would advance straight to the finals. The B Division would see Zach Van Dusen (+148) vs. Gunnar Hahn (+55) and Zach would win that match, 237-208. Coming out of the C Division would be Juyoung Choi (+47) and he would move on straight to the finals.
In the finals, Juyoung would be looking for his 1st title, where Alec and Zach would be look for their second title. Finals started off hot with all players having one miss through 5 frames. As the game went on, it was clear that it was going to be a strike fest. All bowlers would theoretically have a chance to win going into the 10th frame. Zach however, could not double which allowed both Juyoung and Alec chances to stay clean to pass him. Juyoung would be up next and he would get 20 in the 10th to force Alec to get a double and 5 for the win. Alec would go up and flush all three strikes to win by 5, good enough for his 2nd title and the $640 top prize. This was one of the highest scoring matches we’ve ever had and was truly an honor to watch this type of bowling. The final scores were 269 (Johnson) - 264 (Choi) - 247 (Van Dusen).
