Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Avondale and we had a decent turnout. We had a total of 74 entries (58 qualifying and 16 economy parlays) with 21 prize winners and a 1 in 3.52 cash ratio, paying out $3,305 in prize funds. The players bowled on the 35ft boardwalk oil pattern that provided a high scoring pace throughout the event.
We had Kevin Duong hit the Momma’s Mystery Score from the first squad for $500 with a score of 155 and Dylan Taylor hit it from the second squad for $500 with a score of 224. Your winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was James Strang!
There were 21 competitors who made it to the cashers round. Coming out of the A Division was Dylan Taylor, shooting 670 in the cashers round, which for his case moved him straight into the finals since there were only 5 bowlers. The B Division title match would see Jon Taylor (+92) versus Michael Milani (+68). The match would be a higher scoring close match, with Jon coming out with the win, 240-226. The C Division title match would see Marcus White (+91) versus Kevin Duong (+59). The match would be more of a blowout with Marcus beating Kevin, 252-198.
Going into the Finals, both Jon and Marcus would be looking for their first AHT SFT title whereas Dylan would be looking to add another title to his collection.
The finals would start off with Dylan getting off to a perfect start, with Jon and Marcus slowly falling behind. This match quickly turned into a question of how high could Dylan go and who would win the battle between second and third place. Unfortunately, there was a mistake by the center that turned off the lanes mid match. After the lanes were turned back on, Dylan would stone a 7-pin which would end his run in the 8th frame. Through 9 frames, Dylan had the title locked up officially, along with the $880 top prize. However, second and third place would be battle. Marcus would finish the game with a 199 and Jon would finish with 206. Taylor would take second for $450 and Chase would finish 3rd for $305. Final scores were 287 (D. Taylor) - 206 (J. Taylor) - 199 (White).
