Our event this weekend was at AMF Tempe Village and we had a lighter turnout. We had total entries (59 qualifying and 19 economy parlays) with 24 prize winners and a 1 in 3.25 cash ratio, paying out $4,560 in prize funds. The players bowled on the PBA Chameleon oil pattern that provided a lower scoring pace throughout the event.
No one hit the Momma’s Mystery Score today so that money will rollover to the next event at AMF Desert Hills. Your winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was Alex Olson!
There were 20 competitors who made it to the cashers round. The A Division title match would see Phil Glass (+127) versus Kyle Gilbert (+104). The B Division title match would have Micah Coleman (+66) versus Charles Halse (+23). The C Division would see William Bracket (+100) versus Eddie Lucas (+48).
The A Division title match would see Kyle bowl a big game to win over Phil, 263-228. The B Division title match would have Charles emerge over Micah, 169-156, in a low-scoring battle. The C Division title match would be more of a blowout with William beating Eddie, 222-165.
Going into the Finals, Kyle would be looking for his second AHT SFT title whereas Charles and William would be looking for their first title.
The finals would start off hot with Kyle getting off to a quick start with the front 8, where Charles and William would stay clean and start to trail. Kyle had pretty much made up the handicap difference halfway through the match, however, an open in the 9th would raise some eyebrows. He stepped up and never looked back as he got all 3 strikes his way to 266 scratch! William would clutch up second place and Charles would settle for third. Kyle would be walking away with his second title along with the $800 top prize. Final scores were 276 (Gilbert) - 241 (Bracket) - 180 (Halse).
