Our event this weekend was at AMF Mesa and we had a low turnout. We had a total of 38 entries (28 qualifying and 10 economy parlays) with 11 prize winners and a 1 out of 3.45 cash ratio, paying out $1,645 in prize funds. The players bowled on the 40ft 2021 BVL Open oil pattern. This oil pattern provided a medium to lower scoring pace.
No one hit the Momma’s Mystery Pot so that money will roll over to our next event at Bowlero Kyrene. The winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was Michael LePage!
There were 9 competitors who made it to the cashers round, 3 of which were not in progressive. We would see one person making out of the cashers round in each division, with those three bowlers moving on straight to the finals. Coming out of the A Division would be Garrett Plum (+34). Coming out of the B Division, would be Scott Baker with +73. Coming out of the C Division, would be Chuck Lucas with +61.
In the finals, we would have all 3 bowlers looking for their first title. The finals started off with no one really taking an early lead, as everyone would have one open and keep stating clean. Midway through the match, both Scott would leave the door open as he opened a few times, allowing Jack and Garrett to start to pull away. Jack would catch a 3 bagger which would give him the slight lead over Garrett. Garrett had an opportunity to get back in the match with a late open from Jack, however Garrett could not find a way to double. Jack would just need pins in the tenth, and he did plenty, as he would get 9, which would be enough to claim his 1st title and the $340 top prize (not in progressive pot). The final scores with handicap were 229 (Sarvis) - 213 (Baker) - 209 (Plum).
