AMF Mesa

Location:

Our event this weekend was at AMF Mesa and we had a decent turnout. We had a total of 74 entries (66 qualifying and 8 economy parlays) with 22 prize winners and a 1 in 3.36 cash ratio, paying out $3,855 in prize funds. The players bowled on the 42ft Tokyo oil pattern that provided a higher scoring pace throughout the event.

Justin O’Donnell hit the Momma’s Mystery Score with a 177 for $96!! Your winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was Ashley Perez!

There were 19 competitors who made it to the cashers round plus Michael Arce who used one of his exemptions. Coming out of the A Division were Taylor Esping (+173) and Tim Harris (+106). Their match would see Taylor emerge, winning over Tim 239-194. The B Division would see Jayden Mabry (+141), Michael Arce (+111), and Gunnar Hahn (+109) advance to the B Division title match. The B division match would be an exciting one. Michael would fall behind early, but Jadeyn and Gunnar would put on a strike fest. Gunnar finished with a 299 with handicap which would force Jadeyn to double and get count. She stepped up and got all 3 strikes in the 10th to advance herself to the finals. She shot 279 scratch (305 with pins)! The C Division would see Michael Lemos moving on straight to the finals, shooting a massive set in the cashers round at +202.

Going into the Finals, both Jadeyn and Taylor would be on the hunt for the second title, where Michael would be looking for his first.

The finals would be close through the first half with all players keeping pace with their normal average. Halfway through the match, Jadeyn would open a couple times, making her fall behind. Taylor would step up and fill his tenth frame, which would be plenty for him to win his 2nd title and the $1,000 top prize. Final scores were 232 (Esping) - 212 (Lemos) - 204 (Mabry).
