Our event this weekend was at AMF McRay and we had a decent turnout for it being Mother’s Day. We had total 63 entries (47 qualifying and 16 economy parlays) with 20 prize winners and a 1 in 3.15 cash ratio, paying out $2,880 in prize funds. The players bowled on the PBA Shark oil pattern that provided a lower scoring pace throughout the event.
No one hit the Momma’s Mystery Score today so that money will rollover to the major at Bowlero Kyrene. Your winner of the drawing for the free plastic ball, with the option to upgrade to any high-performance Track ball for $99.00, was Jim Haines!
There were 17 competitors who made it to the cashers round. The A and C Divisions would each be small enough to where one person would survive and move on straight to the finals. Coming out of the A Division was Jason Lowery (+92) and the C division would see Eddie Lucas (+90) emerge. The B Division title match would see Jack Haines (+31) versus Jericho Gaydos (+30). The match would be close the whole way, but Jack was able to increase his lead little by little as the match went on. Jack won the match over Jericho, 210-192.
Going into the Finals, both Jason and Jack would be looking for their second AHT SFT title whereas Eddie would be looking for his first title.
The finals would start off very tight, as there was no clear person taking the lead. Just over halfway through the match, there would be a tiny separation, as Eddie would big 4 and start to slightly fall behind. Jason would get a crucial strike in the ninth, tripping a 2-pin, to force Jack to double in the 10th to win. Jack would get the first, but come up short on the second shot, opening the door for both Jason and Eddie to possibly take away the title. Jason would step up in the tenth frame, needing a double, and he would stone a 9 pin. Eddie would have his chance, needing all 3 strikes, and he would also not strike on his first ball. Since Jason and Eddie both fell short, that meant Jack clinched his second title along with the $730 top prize. Final scores were 218 (Haines) - 202 (Lowery) - 191 (Lucas).
