Glenfair Lanes Results - 9/13/15

Location:
Our event this weekend was at Glenfair Lanes this Sunday. We had 52 total entries (32 qualifying entries and 20 economy parlay), 13 cashers, a 1 in 4 cash ratio and paid out over $2,000.00 in main and side event prize fund. The players bowled on the Kegel Route 66 oil pattern which tends to have medium to high scoring at Glenfair Lanes. The players were happy to have something a little easier after battling each other on the brutal Alcatraz pattern last weekend. This pattern is long, but on the high friction lane surface at Glenfair lanes it plays quite a bit dryer and allows straighter players to still do well, even though it is a longer oil pattern.

We were happy to meet some new bowlers once again this weekend. We would like to welcome Brian Jackson, and Leon Sabelka to the SFT AHT family. We are keeping the streak alive of having new bowlers coming out to every event, which is really awesome! We also want to congratulate Krysta LaRue for being a parlay power player and making it all the way to the quarter finals off of her small $25 entry fee. Also congrats to Brian Jackson who made it to his first ever quarter finals on Sunday also.

The quarter finals consisted of a small 9 person field but it was still a competitive one. Everyone was focused and trying to be the leader in their division so they could go straight to the final match for a potential $600 first place prize. Nearly every single division had the leader change in the last game of the quarter finals. Jason Satterlee was able to go around Sean Ashley to be the A division champion, Scott Sparks barely retained his lead to stay B Division leader and Logan Spencer went around Brian Jackson the final game to be the C division champion.

The final match looked to be a good one with Logan and Scott in their first ever final match and Jason poised to make a move in the player of the year points race. It proved to be a good one too with all three players having at least 5 strikes by the 7th frame. This was good for Logan as he was getting the most handicap. He had been bowling well all day thanks in some part to a brand new bowling ball that was really helping him throw some strikes. It remained this way and the final match was one of the most interesting we have ever seen. Logan bowled above 300 with handicap which is a first in a final match and both the B and C division players defeated the A division player scratch which doesn’t happen very often. Logan was the champion winning his first title after bowling about a half dozen events. Scott Sparks got his first runner up finish and Jason Satterlee finishing 3rd.
Thanks to everyone for coming out, and we look forward to seeing everyone at Golden Pin Lanes next weekend for the double header of State masters on Saturday and our minor event on Sunday. See you all there!
