Lakeview Lanes Results - 7/28/2013

We had another great event at Lakeview Lanes this weekend with 78 entries, 22 cashers and a 1 in 3.4 cash ratio. We didn’t have any mid-week qualifying for this tournament, so the total entries were lower than usual. However, we actually had more people on the weekend than usual for this event which was incredible because of how far the center was for most of the participants. This was our first event at Lakeview Lanes and all of the bowlers really enjoyed the center and their staff. The bowlers bowled on a very tricky 37ft Kegel Broadway oil pattern that had very low scores all weekend. Most of the players that scored well played the further outside portions of the lane. The straighter players definitely tended to fair better than the players that tried to hook the lane.

Brunswick Mesa Results - 7/14/2013

Well the SFT AHT family had another great weekend together! 101 entries, 26 cashers and a 1 in 3.8 cash ratio for the weekend! The event paid out a total of $5,146.00 in main and side event prize fund! The bowlers bowled on a short pattern for the first time in a while. They bowled on a 37ft sport pattern that hooked more the further you got from the gutter. We definitely had a variety of styles in the quarter finals thought from straight players to those that hook it, lefties and righties. One of the biggest advantages to the addition of a re-oil before the quarter finals is being able to use the shorter patterns like this one. It allows the players to experience the shorter patterns but the quarter finals aren’t an automatic win for the power players because the lanes are so torched.

AMF Chandler Results - 6/23/13

It was a fun one as always! We had 92 entries, 24 cashers, a 1 in 3.8 cash ratio and paid out over $4,000 in the main event and side event prize funds. We also had some new bowlers come out to join us for the first time. I would like to welcome Garrett Stilwell, Marty Estes, Brian Grommes, Steven Lee, and Brian Lee to the SFT AHT family. I hope you all had a good time in your first event, and look forward to seeing you at the next one!

All of the players bowled on a 42ft modified house pattern that proved to be much more difficult on the fresh, and open up as the day went on. Most of the player either played inside or in between 2nd and 3rd arrow. There weren’t any players that were able to play them further right then the 10 board. The real hassle was the pair to pair differences. The players that were able to throw good shots when they changed pairs, and make the proper adjustments without losing too many pins were the players that ended up on top.

Brunswick Glendale Results - 6/2/13

We had our last event at Brunswick Zone Glendale which doesn’t hold a lot of tournaments. We want to thank the GM Mike and the staff there for having us! The event drew 103 entries, had 26 cashers, a 1 in 3.9 cash ratio and paid out over $4,500.00! The event also drew out the following new members to join SFT AHT family. Henry DiFlorio, Kami Stewart, Kevin Paige, Chuck Lucas, Rich Moffatt, Elizabeth Maldonado, Robert Clark III, and Lamar Stofko welcome to the club! I hope you all had a great time in your first experience!

All of the players bowled on the 39ft USBC Open Championships oil pattern which yielded fairly low scores. We saw a huge +208 by Ron Gonzales which included front 10 and a 284 scratch. However our cuts for the weekend averaged around +50. The pattern had straight players and players that hooked the ball quite a bit. There was a decent amount of lefties in the quarter finals, although it was hard to tell if their ball reaction was significantly better.

AMF Christown Results - 05/27/2013

If you are looking for a short results summary, this won’t be the one you’re looking for. WOW! What a weekend of bowling, fun, and exciting competition. The Memorial Day Championship had 203 entries, 48 cashers, a 1 in 4.2 cash ratio, and the side events and main tournament together paid out over $11,000.00!!! This was our largest SFT AHT event ever in every category. It was less than 14 months ago that the SFT AHT had its first tournament. Every member out there should know that you all played a very intricate and significant role in the SFT AHT’s rapid growth. We always talk about the SFT AHT family, and I believe that having an event with over 200 entries within 14 months of starting shows just how powerful a family or group of people can be when working together.

AMF Mesa Results - 05/05/2013

Another incredibly fun weekend with the SFT family! We had more story lines this week then we could handle! There were 89 entries, 23 cashers, a 1 in 3.8 cash ratio and over $3,500.00 paid out for this weekend’s event at AMF Mesa. The bowlers bowled on a 42ft modified house that was one of the easiest patterns we have ever bowled on. It was very similar to a house shot but with a bit more oil. The scores all weekend were HUGE! We had a +177 for 2 games by Hokey Begay! A 300 game by Scott Sparks, which was his first USBC sanctioned 300 game. Also Susan O’Hara bowled her highest scratch game ever of 257 in the process of a +134 series. Dylan Taylor had the highest 3 game series with handicap of +211! Mike Bohe made a huge return back to the SFT AHT with the highest 3 game scratch series of 759! Great bowling to all of you! It’s always fun and exciting to have an event from time to time on easier conditions.

Mesa East Results - 4/28/2013

Well our return to Mesa East Bowl was a very interesting one! We had a lot of exciting differences from the last time we were there and a few other similarities that were also exciting. The first awesome difference was the fact that there were more entries this time. We had 110 entries, 26 non-exempt cashers, a 1 in 4.2 cash ratio and paid out over $4,000.00!

AMF Union Hills Results - 4/20/2013

We had another incredibly fun event on Saturday, April 20th! We bowled the 40 frame game format which is always a riot! We had 62 total entries, 15 cashers, and a 1 in 4.1 cash ratio. The bowlers bowled on a 45ft Kegel Route 66 oil pattern which proved to be very long but playable. Most of the players that had success played very deep inside angles with softer ball speeds.

We always want to welcome the new bowlers that bowled their first event with us this weekend. Kevin Gawelko, Mike Windle, Walter Kim, Connie Albano, Shawn Peters, David Ball, and Richard Amenta. Also a special congrats to Kevin Gawelko and Richard Amenta who cashed in their first try out with the SFT! Congrats guys!

Brunswick Mesa Results - 4/7/2013

We had an incredible turn out this weekend with 90 members, 148 entries, 36 cashers, a 1 in 4.1 cash ratio and paid out over $6,400.00! The turnout was so good that we were able to pay out even more money than our traditional guarantees! Our low to cash was increased from $80, to $90; semi’s went from $160 to $170; and the 2nd place in each division went from $185 to $250! All of the minimum payouts were increased by over $500! We want to thank all of the SFT AHT new and old family members that made this event such a huge success! We are happy to see you all continue to spread the word and keep coming out and then reap the reward of your efforts with bigger and better prize funds. Thanks to all of you!

Let It Roll Bowl Results - 3/30/2013

Well our 2nd Track Match Play challenge event was another success! Thanks to the 62 entries, and nearly 30 members that came out to bowl with us at Let It Roll Bowl & Entertainment. The players bowled on a very difficult 39ft national’s pattern. This will be the same pattern used at our next standard event at Brunswick Zone Mesa, so players that bowled this event got a bit of a sneak peek at how their ball reaction may be at the first event of the spring circuit. The scoring pace was very low with very few players going over +100 and most players barely going plus at all.
