Bowlero Kyrene - 9/5/2022

This weekend’s event was our 3-Day Labor Day Major at Bowlero Kyrene. We would see 350 total entries (238 qualifying and 112 parlay entries) this weekend which would get close to but would come up short on our qualifying entries record that we set Memorial Day Major event! It was great to see everyone come out to compete and have a good time. Honestly, we cannot thank the bowling community enough for all the help in making this such a successful event. We would draw entries from around the state and it was great to see some bowlers that we have not seen a while.

Bowlero Via Linda - 8/21/2022

Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Via Linda, and we had another great turnout for our 2-squad event! We had 136 total entries (107 qualifying and 29 parlays), 35 cashers, 1 in 3.88 cash ratio and paid out just over $10,000.00 in main and side event prize funds! The players bowled on a 39ft PBA Chameleon oil pattern that was very tricky, deceptive. Many of the bowlers would think that since there was more oil volume that it would play similar to a modified house shot, but with all the oil in the front and outside portion of the lanes it made it very hard to swing the ball. Because the pattern was not very long or very short, it allowed players to attack it from a variety of angles. The cut scores were pretty low with bowlers only needing to bowl a few pins over their average to advance to the quarterfinal round. The main key for the day was to leave a makeable spares and pick it up.

AMF Union Hills - 7/31/2022

Our event this weekend was at AMF Union Hills, and we had another great turnout in back-to-back weekends. We had 139 total entries (100 qualifying & 39 economy parlays) for 2 squads, with 35 prize winners and a 1 in 3.97 cash ratio, paying out over $9,200 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on the 43ft Kegel Deadman’s Curve oil pattern that played very soft at this center. The pattern has an out of bounds if you get it too far towards the gutter early, but it looked like there was enough of a built-in track that the bowlers were able to overcome it. We would see a lot of higher scores than usual but going from pair to pair there were some big differences, but once the oil pattern started to break down in the later squads, then scores started to pick up. It would take about +80 to qualify for the quarterfinals with bowlers needing to bowl 20-30 pins over their average per game to advance.

AMF McRay - 7/24/2022

Our event this weekend was at AMF McRay, and we would have a great turnout. We would have 141 total entries (95 qualifying and 46 economy parlays) with 37 cashers, a 1 in 3.91 cash ratio and paid out over $9,700.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on the 40ft Kegel Highway to Hell oil pattern that played pretty tough for most of the day. There were some higher scores, but bowlers were able to play a variety of angles on this pattern. The key was to leave makeable spares and stay close to even for most of the games. The cut scores stayed around +30 for most of the day, which meant that you had to bowl about just a bit over your average each game to qualify.

Bowlero Kyrene - 7/9/2022

We kicked off our 2022 Summer Circuit this weekend at Bowlero Kyrene and we had a great turnout! We would see 140 entries (108 qualifying and 32 economy parlays) with 35 cashers, a 1 in 4 cash ratio and paid out over $9,000.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on a squirrely 35ft PBA Cheetah pattern that played a bit longer than the previous versions that was laid out. There was a difference in how to attack the pattern, but those that found success were able to play up the gutter and get their ball to roll correctly through the pins. The average cut score was a bit higher, but with this shorter pattern scores are usually on the high side.

Mesa East Bowl - 6/18/2022

We would be out at Mesa East Bowl this weekend for another early bird 2-squad event. This would be the last one of the 2022 Spring Quarterly Circuit (April to June) and we would have several bowlers vying for the top spot. Even with the earlier squad times we would see another good turnout with 98 total entries (74 qualifying and 24 economy parlays), 27 cashers and a 1 in 3.62 cash ratio, paying out over $7,300.00 in main and side event prize funds. The bowlers bowled on the 41ft PBA Bear oil pattern that had some lower scores compared to last weekend. The pattern allowed players to play from any angle, but the key was trying to make high quality shots and pick up your spares. The cut scores stayed around +30 for most of the day with bowlers only need to get 5-10 pins above their average each game to advance.

Bowlero Christown - 6/12/2022

Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Christown, and we would see a great turnout considering this was the first time that we have been back to Christown in about 5 years!!!  We had 134 total entries (93 qualifying and 41 economy parlays) for this 2-squad event, with a cash ratio of 1 in 3.9 and paying out over $7,900.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on the 48ft PBA Shark pattern, that I do not think we have bowled on in quite a while. This pattern is a bit different in the fact that it is very long but doesn't use a lot of volume for the length. This creates an odd transition as the lanes as they "dry out" but they dry out in the middle and front part of the lane which causes the ball to hook early, so you have to move left. However, with most patterns you can continue to loop the ball more as they get drier because there are enough boards with no oil on them for the ball to continue hooking.

Bowlero Mesa - 5/30/2022

This weekend’s event was our 3-Day Memorial Day Major at Bowlero Mesa.  We would see 371 total entries (273 qualifying and 98 parlay entries) this weekend which would smash our previous record of 317 total entries (226 qualify and 91 parlays) for a Major event!  It was great to see everyone come out to compete and have a good time.  Honestly, we can’t thank the bowling community enough for all the help in making this such a successful event.  We would draw entries from around the state and would even see some bowlers come down from Utah to bowl our event.

AMF McRay - 5/1/22

Our event this weekend was at AMF McRay lanes and had a pretty good turnout for our two-squad event considering that there were so many other tournaments going on this weekend.  We would see 124 total entries (84 qualifying and 40 economy parlays) with 32 total cashers, a 1 in 3.7 cash ratio and paid out over $7,900.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on the very tough 41ft 2021 USBC Nationals Team oil pattern.  This pattern played a bit tricky with bowlers being able to play a variety of angles.  It seemed that the bowlers who were able to repeat their shots and leave makeable spares would see the most success.  The cut for the day would be around +45-50 so bowlers needed to shoot about 5-10 pins over their average per game to advance.

AMF Tempe Village - 4/24/2022

Our event this weekend was at AMF Tempe Village, and we had another good turnout with 122 total entries (85 qualifying and 37 economy parlays). We had 33 cashers, a 1 in 3.69 cash ratio and paid out over $8,300.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on the 45ft PBA Dragon oil pattern that played soft and we would see some higher scores throughout the day. Bowlers were able to play a variety of angles on the pattern as long as they were able to get their ball to read the lane and not overhook. The cut scores stayed around +75 for most of the day, which meant that you had to bowl about 10-15 pins over your average per game to qualify.
