This weekends event was at AMF Desert Hills. It has been awhile since we have had an event at this center. The event drew 80 total entries (55 qualifying and 25 economy parlay), had 24 cashers, a 1 in 3.4 cash ratio and paid out over $4,000.00 in main and side event prize fund. The players bowled on a 35ft boardwalk oil pattern that played a bit harder then usual. This pattern can tend to be high scoring, because it allows some miss room to the right if the player is able to get far enough to the right. That did exist on some of the pairs, but other pairs didn’t have it. It seems that the longer and longer that centers have these same lane beds, the topography across the house gets more and more different. This causes the differences from pair to pair to be larger.

Our event this weekend was at Brunswick Kyrene lanes. The event drew 117 total entries (74 qualifying & 43 parlays), had 34 cashers, a 1 in 3.4 cash ratio and paid out over $5,300.00 in main and side event prize fund! The players bowled on a very tough PBA 47ft Scorpion oil pattern that had very low scoring on the fresh and then higher scoring on the later squads. It wasn’t possible for many players to successfully play right of the 7 or 8 boards.  Most players were left of the 2^nd arrow and it seemed that the players that had softer ball speeds or higher rev rates faired the best throughout the day. It was definitely a tough pattern and was a change of pace for the regulars who haven’t bowled on a long pattern in quite a while.

Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Gilbert! It has been quite a while since we have had an event at this center and we were really excited to be back. A big thanks to Brian Jackson and his effort with getting us into this bowling center. The bowlers love this center! It’s really nice, has a very cool layout with 28 lanes on one side and 16 on the other side. It’s an upscale venue with delicious food and a huge arcade. You could tell the bowlers were excited to have the event there as we had a 100+ entry turn out with only two squads of bowling! We averaged over 50 bowlers per squad for both squads! A huge thanks to the SFT AHT family for supporting the event and showing Bowlero Gilbert why they should have us back again!

This weekend’s event was at AMF Union Hills lanes. There were a lot of other events going on around town, but we were happy to get a little over 50 total entries. The players bowled on the 43ft Mexico City oil pattern. It was slightly tougher oil pattern as bowlers are not used to playing straighter in the middle of the lane.  It was very difficult to score, on the fresh, as trying to hook the ball back from the outside was not ideal with longer oil patterns. The cut scores at this event were much higher in the A division then the other divisions, but the average cut score to advance was around +30 with divisional insurance, so the scoring was not too high. However, it seemed like each division had certain players who bowled really high and typically these were the players that were the most comfortable getting their ball to roll instead of hooking the ball in the middle of the lane.
