Let It Roll Bowl Results - 5/28/2012

Location:

We had another exciting and fun event at Let It Roll Bowl this weekend! We had 120 entries and 31 finalists and prize winners which is a 1 in 3.8 cut/cash ratio! We continue to pay out large first place amounts while also still taking a lot of bowlers to the finals! We got to see some of our longest running members come out and bowl with us again! I would like to say thanks to Tom Large, Roger Sensing, Wayne Swayda, Sheila Reddic, Brian Waugh, Choc Higa, Larry Smith, Bo Copeland, Mike Scimone, Naida Davis, Gary McCurdy, Lynn Arthur, Bruce Downs and many more. I want to extend a special thanks to you members for being such avid supporters of the Strike Force Tour Family for so many years!

We had two more Economy Parlay success stories this weekend. Daniel Scott of the B Division and Brian Waugh of the A Division both made the finals off of their $25 parlay investment. Daniel parlayed 25 into $85 and cashed twice in our sweeper side event. Brian parlayed $25 into $140.00 and made it all the way to the semi-finals! Congrats to both of you guys and your success with the Economy Parlay!

Our free clinic was a HUGE SUCCESS! Bowlers really enjoyed this tournament feature and took advantage of it. There were a handful of guys that made the finals and semi-finals that all worked with Josh Blanchard and really got a great understanding of the tournament pattern and how to attack it. I would like to say thanks to Josh for coming out and offering his services for free to the bowlers. We wish the PBA Rookie of the Year luck on his upcoming season! If you would like to contact Josh about lessons feel free to do so by clicking here.

This event had two really great story lines. One was our tournament winner and birthday boy , Charlie Light, taking home the $1,500 as an SFT birthday present. The other one was our final match, which somehow managed to top our last final match at Brunswick Desert Sky Lanes. The match was heading into the 7th frame of the game and it appeared that Charlie Light had Tom Large completely shut out. Charlie was up by nearly 40 pins in the match, and seemed to be on cruise control. However, open frames in the 8th, 9th, and 10th frames gave Tom Large an opening. Tom had to strike out in the 9th and 10th frames to tie Charlie and force a 9th and 10th frame roll off. Tom got the first two in the 10th, but he wasn’t finished yet, he needed all 10 pins once again. Anything less would mean $750.00 less and no SFT AHT title. Tom got the ball a little right but it got back just enough to knock all pins down for the 186 to 186 tie. In the 9th and 10th frame sudden death roll off, Tom started the roll off with a gutter and then 7. Charlie struck in the 9th and it appeared to be in his favor, until he left a 1,2,4,6,10 wash out for his first shot in the 10th. This meant if he didn’t make it, Tom was was very alive in the match. Charlie, who converted a 2-10 split in his prior match, showed everyone how to be clutch by converting the difficult wash out and striking in the fill to shut Tom Large out and claim his first SFT AHT tournament title. Congrats to both of you and thanks for the incredibly exciting final match! Also, to Charlie, Happy Birthday buddy! I hope its a great one!

Thanks to all of those that came out and supported our event. We hope to see you at our next event at Brunswick Via Linda Lanes on June 9th and 10th which will feature special economy parlay only squads at 9 am. Make sure to check out the flyer here for more details.
