Let It Roll Bowl Results- 11/30/14

Location:
Our Thanksgiving Day weekend event at Let It Roll Bowl was another fun holiday weekend with the SFT AHT family. The event drew 84 entries, 26 cashers, a 1 in 3.2 cash ratio and paid out over $4,000.00 in main and side event prizes. Although the event brought our 100 entry streak to an end, it was still a streak to celebrate. It wasn’t very long ago that we had our very first event with 100 entries. As a club, we are incredibly grateful that nearly every single event this year has drawn over 100 entries. Our growth is due to our incredible members who support us everywhere and keep bringing out their friends.

The players competed on the 40ft Turkey pattern this weekend. As many of you may know, the PBA has a variety of patterns that are called the “animal” patterns. The club bowls on them all the time, and they consist of patterns like Cheetah, Viper, Scorpion, Badger and Bear. We decided to start creating some of our own animal pattern names. This was the first event that we created our own animal pattern and the Turkey pattern was nothing to fool around with. Clearly named after the holiday weekend, the pattern was one of the hardest patterns we have used this season. A lot of the events at Let It Roll Bowl have been lower scoring.

We want to congratulate Dave Inoshita and Mike Jones on advancing to their first ever SFT AHT quarter finals this weekend. Also congrats to Ron Schloss, Robin Unfricht, and Joe Mascio on advancing to the quarter finals through the economy parlay. We are always having new people make it to the quarter finals and other players make it to the quarter finals though the parlay which only costs $25! Congrats to all of you!

The semi-final round was another interesting one. All of the #1 seeds got to select the pair the semi-final match was bowled on in each of their divisions. Again, all of the #1 seeds ended up losing their 1 game matches. It has been interesting that over the season, picking the pair hasn’t proved to be as much of an advantage as you would think. While Joe Mascio, Brian Roever and Ted McKay dominated in the quarter finals to be the #1 seeds, they all lost in the semi-final round. Joe was defeated once again by Jason Satterlee in the A division, Ted was defeated by Jonathan Ferrell in the B Division and Brian lost to Brian Gustafson in the C division.

The final match was a great one, with Jason Satterlee getting the early lead with a few strikes. However, the other players made their spares and didn’t let the lead get any bigger. A couple errand shots with missed spares in the 8th and 9th frame put the other players back in the driver seat. Jonathan Ferrell got up in the 10th with a strike in the 9th. He threw the strikes in the 10th to shut out his opponents and take home his first ever SFT AHT title and $1,000.00!
