Glenfair Results 11/15/15

Location:

Our event was at Glenfair Lanes this Sunday. We had 51 entries (15 economy parlay entries and 36 qualifying entries), 16 cashers, a 1 in 3.18 cash ratio and paid out over $2,000.00 in main and side event prizefund. The pattern for this event was the 35ft Cheetah oil pattern, which is normally a high scoring pattern, but this Sunday it wasn't. Also, oddly enough, the A division had the highest cut scores, which is also uncommon. The average cut score for the event was around +60/+70, but the A division took +117 to advance to the quarter finals. Most of the players that scored well played near the gutter in some way, as the middle of the lane was very dry.

We were pleased to meet some new faces again. We would like to welcome Dave Oliver and Jim Adams to the SFT AHT family. They were both bowling in their first event, and David made it to the quarter finals in his first event. We thank both of these guys for coming out to give the club a try, and look forward to seeing them again.

The quarter finals had a litte bit of back and forth, but the A division champion was in the bag for most of the quarter finals round. However the C division, had Chuck Lucas going blow for blow with Dave Oliver and barely missing making another final match. Also, the B division was very close with Ron Gonzales needing a double in the 10th of the last game to pass Mike Barcus and move on to the final match. Both of these were huge as Ron and Chuck are both chasing Jason in the player of the year race. Jason making the final match, and these two both barely missing was a huge opprotunity for Jason to get the small lead he needs to better secure being the 2015 SFT AHT Player of the Year.

The final match was never too close, atleast not for the title. Jason started off a little shaky but then a huge 6 bagger from the 3rd frame on locked up the title for him and left Dave and Mike to battle it out for 2nd and 3rd. An open i the 9th frame put Mike behind, but he had an opprotunity to strike out in the 10th to take 2nd from David. However, an errand shot set him short of that, but he took home $200. Him and Dave were in their first final match and matched up against a tough competitior.

Thanks to everyone for coming out! Don't forget that next Saturday we have a fun event and a free Track demo available at the same time. Then our tournament partner Acba Bowling will be having an event on Sunday. Both events on the same pattern at AMF McRay! See you all there!
