Well the SFT AHT family had another great weekend together! 101 entries, 26 cashers and a 1 in 3.8 cash ratio for the weekend! The event paid out a total of $5,146.00 in main and side event prize fund! The bowlers bowled on a short pattern for the first time in a while. They bowled on a 37ft sport pattern that hooked more the further you got from the gutter. We definitely had a variety of styles in the quarter finals thought from straight players to those that hook it, lefties and righties. One of the biggest advantages to the addition of a re-oil before the quarter finals is being able to use the shorter patterns like this one. It allows the players to experience the shorter patterns but the quarter finals aren’t an automatic win for the power players because the lanes are so torched.

As always we want to welcome all of the new members that joined us this weekend. Micki Butler, Chris Spinner, David Anderson, Barry Gilituk Sr., John Bousselot, Kevin Clarke, Dave Millmier, Ernesto Amaya, and Frank Meyer. I hope you all had a great time in your first event and we all look forward to seeing you at the next one! Also congrats to Kevin Robertson and Dave Couture for making their first ever SFT AHT quarter finals this weekend! Kevin took it an even a little further and made it all the way to the semi’s in his first quarters. Also a quick shout out to Barry Isler for winning $500 from Momma’s Mystery Score with a score of 166!

Well we had more parlay power players! Susan O’Hara and Dylan Taylor both showed the power of the parlay this weekend! Dylan has proven to really be the king of the parlay, as he almost always makes it through. This time he did even better by winning the $100 high daily series bounty with economy parlay score! Susan did well too carrying her parlay success all the way to the second round of the semi-finals! She turned $25 into $228! Congrats to both of you!

The 24 quarter finalists took to the lanes and were cut down to the 8 bowlers for the semi-final round. The A division had #1 seed Ben Spencer taking on #4 seed Ryan Burt, and #2 seed Ron Gonzales vs #3 seed Lynn Arthur. Ben won his match fairly easily over Ryan and Lynn through some clutch shots when he needed it to shut Ron out. Lynn took Ben on in the A division final match, and some good breaks combined with some clutch shots to take advantage of the breaks allowed Lynn to defeat Ben and move on to bowl for his 4th SFT AHT title.

The B division had #1 seed and birthday boy Kevin Robertson taking on #4 seed Susan O’Hara, and #2 seed Phillip Thompson taking on #3 seed Chuck Kremer. Both of these matches were interesting as the battle between the veterans Phil and Chuck proved to be a great one with Phil throwing a huge double in the 9th and 10th that forced Chuck to do the same, but he wasn’t able to. The other match had two players that had never made it this far but it was clear that neither of them were afraid of the big stage. They both bowled great scores but Susan defeated Kevin with a score of 236. Susan and Phil took each other on to determine the B division champion. It was back and forth but Phil was able to get a lead on Susan, and he almost had it locked up until an open frame in the 10th frame. This gave Susan an opening, but she wasn’t able to throw the strikes she needed so Phil would move on to bowl in his 2nd title match ever.

The match wasn’t very close, as Lynn continued his dominance with a huge 249 game! This is Lynn’s second title this season showing how big of an advantage it is to be the player of the year and get all of those exemptions. The other very cool thing about this event was the fact that we had ANOTHER FIRST! Both of the finalists were NOT in the progressive pot. This meant the $750 that they normally would have won from the progressive pot filtered back down to all of the other players that made the quarter finals that were in the progressive. This made our last cash with progressive $125! That means that all spots basically went up at least $45!

Another great event with everyone, and we look forward to having our second event of the summer circuit at Lakeview Lanes on July 27th and 28th. We look forward to seeing you all there!
