Brunswick Mesa Results - 2/23/14

Location:

Our 3rd standard event of the 2014 season was another great one. So far through 5 events this season, we have had champions with averages in the 170's, 180's, 190's, 200's and now after this weekends event, a champion with an average in the 210's. It's pretty safe to say that this season is going to be a great one where all skill levels can compete! The event this weekend drew 117 entries, had 31 cashers and a 1 in 3.7 cash ratio. The one thing that can't be said enough about this weekend's event was the scores! HOLY COW WERE THEY HIGH! We have had 2 300 games total in the 20 months of running SFT AHT's. In this event alone we had FOUR!!

The players bowled on the 47ft Paris oil pattern which really seemed to favor a variety of styles. Straighter right handed players represented half of the 300 games this weekend and a straight lefty and high rev lefty took down the other two 300 games. However, a big congrats to Dave Nelson and Hokey Begay who both shot their first ever 300 games this weekend. What makes it even better is that they both did it with Track bowling balls. Thanks to our awesome sponsor, Track Bowling Products, they get a free Track ball of their choice. The other two players that bowled 300 were Ron Gonzales and Jakob Butturff. Jakob's 300 capped off a nice 822 series. Great bowling to all of you guys. Click here to go to the video gallery where you can see the final shots of some of the 300 games.

As always we want to thank all of the new bowlers that came out and experienced this as their first SFT AHT event. Eric Flick, Robbie Patterson, Scott Stanek, Brooke Martinez, Bryan Van Sickle, Michelle Krueger, Christopher Nguyen, Aaron Yammamoto, Barry Haddon, Curtis Spence, and Brandon Pretlove welcome to the family! We hope you had a good time and we look forward to seeing you at your next event! Also congrats to the following players who made thier first ever SFT AHT quarter finals at this event; Eric Monk, Brandon Pretlove, Robbie Patterson, Brad Van Sickle, and Zack Martinez. We are always having new people having success at the events!

Also a quick congrats to Jakob Butturff, Joe Mascio, and Eric Monk who showed the power of the parlay this weekend! All three of these players turned a $25 economy parlay entry fee into a quarter finals check! It happens at every event, so don't doubt your ability to take the affordable route to the $1,000.00!

Well our division champions were Jakob Butturff in the A division, Kevin Enomoto in the B division and Josh Childers in the C division. All three of these players had a good shot at winning the $1,000.00. Jakob Butturff bowls league in the center and was on a real hot streak. He bowled his 300 game and 822 series right before the semi-final round. Kevin Enomoto had been bowling well all weekend, winning high game pots and bowling huge sets. Josh Childers was new to the finals, but after making some changes to his bag he was taking advantage of a farily low average for his true ability. Would he take advantage of months of struggles at SFT AHT events? Would Kevin show his experience to win his second title, or would Jakob Butturff prove to be hot at the right time?

Well althought he match was back and forth the first half of the game, Jakob Buttruff proved to have what it takes to handle the pressure. There were nearly two dozen people watching the final match take place. The lanes were being oiled for leagues that were going to be flooring. The entire bowling center was so quiet waiting for each player to throw their shot. It was quite a stage, and it never appeared to be too big for Jakob. He finally got his first title and took home $1,000.00!

Thanks to everyone for coming out this weekend and here is some info on some upcoming events to look out for. Our tournament partner, Glenfair Lanes has a big event they are running for the next three weekends. It is called the ponderosa classic and we have added a FREE 20 game prizefund in addition to the event's regular prizefund. However, this additional 20 game prizefund is only available to those that have bowled an SFT AHT event. You click here for the Ponderosa flyer and click here for info on the SFT AHT 20 game prizefund.

Our next event will be at AMF Tempe Village lanes on March 8th and 9th!
