Our event this Sunday was at Brunswick Kyrene lanes on the very difficult 40ft Bear oil pattern. As expected the scoring was very low, with players easily making the cut if they bowled their average. Most players that did well were players that didn't belly the ball a whole lot. Most of the players that did well were the players that were good spare shooters compared to the other players in their division.
As always we like to congratulate our parlay power players, which at this event were Ted McKay and Dylan Taylor. Also congrats to Chase Nesvig who made it to this first ever SFT AHT quarter finals at this event. Also, Mike Hodge made his very first title match where he had a pretty good showing to almost win his first title.
The quarter finals had Dylan Taylor coming out of the A division. Ben Spencer beating Ted McKay by a very narrow margin to be the B division champion, and Mike Hodge defeating everyone in the C division.
These three players battled it out in a pretty exciting final match that was determined by a narrow margin. It was really anyone's game going into the last few frames. A big break striking on a shot that went throught the face was huge for Dylan which gave him a double. That combined with Ben missing an easy spare gave Dylan the slight lead. Mike and Ben weren't able to put any further pressure on Dylan by the end of the game, and he only needed a mark to win. Dylan was able to get up and make a good shot to strike and win his 4th SFT AHT title.
