AMF Deer Valley Results - 10/11/15

Location:

This event had a lighter turnout which meant that the players would have a pretty good chance at winning the $1,000.00 first place prize. The event had 45 entries (31 qualifying entries and 14 economy parlay), 13 cashers, a 1 in 3.4 cash ratio and paid out over $2,000.00 in main and side event prizes. The players ended up bowling on a 45ft pattern that played harder than the players expected. While there were a few players that scores out of the roof, the scoring was on the higher side, but not as high as anticipated. It was also a good thing, as players of all skill levels were able to succeed on the pattern as it was playable from all angles.

We did have a new bowler at this event in Jon Craycraff. Jon is orginally from Tennesse and we want to welcome him to the SFT AHT family! We also had first time quarter finalists at this event in James Winnie, and also parlay power players in James Roethle and James Winnie. It's crazy to think that we have a parlay power player and first time quarter finalists at almost every single SFT AHT event. Congrats to everyon on their achievements this weekend.

The quarter finals was an interesting one with a few players really getting off to the races. William Nedry in the A division started off with a nice 268 with handicap in game one. Also in the C division Roger Sensing started off big with a 267. However, things got closer with Roger bowling 156 scratch in game 2 and William bowling 191 scratch. When it was all said and done the division champions were William Nedry in the A division, Billy Pretlove in the B division and Roger Sensing in the C division.

The final match was exciting. Not because it was particulary close, but because we almost had our first every 300 game in a title match. William Nedry rang off the front 11 strikes. What was most impressive about this, is that he did it with two pretty long lane breakdowns. The first one was a good 5+ minutes long, and the second one a little shorter, but still not very short. The lapses didn't seem to affect is rhythm as he threw great shots afterward. His 12th shot was a great one also, but he left a stone 8 pin to miss the perfect score. Incredibly bowling none the less. Great bowling to earn a cool $1,000.00 first place prize.
