AMF Christown Results - 5/6/2012

Location:

We had another incredibly fun and successful tournament at AMF Christown Lanes! We had a total of 82 entries and 21 prize winners which is a 1 in 3.9 cashing ratio, all while still paying out $1,000 for first and $500.00 for second. We couldn’t do it without all of the support from the Strike Force Tour family, so thank you!

We had some really great times this weekend at AMF Christown lanes. We had some long time Strike Force Tour veterans come out and bowl for the first time since new ownership. I would like to say welcome back to Rick Williams and Brian Gustafson! After bowling against you guys years ago, it’s fun to root for you off the lanes! We also had a huge showing from our senior and women. We had 9 total seniors and 3 women come out to bowl. Congrats to Gary McCurdy and Christina Cantlin for making the quarter finals with the senior & women’s division. This feature isn’t available in most tournaments and we have a lot of participants who really like it and are taking advantage of it!

The finals consisted of a lot of players that were making their first quarter finals appearance in the Strike Force Tour Arizona Handicap Tour. Congrats to Charlie Light, Dylan Taylor, Jai Janoe, Chase Lazenby and Robert Reitman. Jai Janoe was on fire all weekend. He shot +140 to make the quarter finals, and then lead the quarter finals with another +140. It looked like he was going to be the one coming out of the B Division, but he ran out of gas at the wrong time against Strike Force Tour season veteran Gary McCurdy.

The A division ended up having 3 players in the semi-finals. Ryan Burt, Roger Sensing, and Trevor Lazenby battled it out in a one game match that was a nail biter to the end! Ryan Burt, a fairly new member that joined us at Glenfair lanes, came out slightly ahead with a score of 218 with handicap. It was neck and neck going into the tournament finals, but it seemed that Ryan picked the wrong time to bowl his bad game. Gary McCurdy took advantage of this and ended up beating Ryan scratch. Congrats Gary, I know it’s been a long time coming buddy!

Our next event is at Brunswick Desert Sky Lanes on May 19th & 20th. Please make sure to mark your calendars, because this was a date change from the original schedule. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We will also be adding a 2:30pm squad to the event on Saturday afternoon. I have had requests from some guys that can’t get to tournaments by 1pm. Please spread the word on this squad time! Thanks to all of those that came out, and I hope to see you at Desert Sky!
