2012 Banquet - 12/30/2012

Location:
Well the 2012 banquet was another fun and successful event. Not to mention a great way to cap off the season. We had a little over 30 members attend the banquet, socialize and have a good time while watching the year end presentation. If you would like to watch this presentation, you can find the link down below. The food was finally served and then eating began while we handed out the season ending awards.

The first award that we gave out was to the 2012 rookie of the year. The player that won this award had never bowled in a previous SFT event. He had quite a few accolades over the 2012 season. He was the winner of the highest entry non-major standard event with over 120 entries. He also had a doubles title and multiple semi-finals appearances. He clinched the award on Saturday at the criss cross doubles, but to eliminate any question he won the 2012 PMI on Sunday morning before the banquet. The 2012 rookie of the year was David Kurlan. Congrats David.

The second award that we gave out was to the 2012 female player of the year. She didn't bowl a lot of events but she had the one accolade that it really takes to win this award. She was the first and only female in 2012 to win a title! She defeated the entire field in our 3rd event at AMF Desert Hills and in a pretty impressive fashion. She made some future quarter finals appearances but never got back to the big match. Congrats to Christina Cantlin on her success this season on being our 2012 female player of the year.

The third award went to our 2012 senior player of the year. This guy has a lot of accolades in 2012, not to mention he was very close to winning player of the year honors. He has several final match appearances, over 5 semi-final appearances, 1 title, and the Economy Parlay record! He is the only man to turn $25 into $1,000! He did this feat at Brunswick Via Linda Lanes. Not to mention that he achieved this all driving from Tucson every weekend! His determination and hard work can not be questioned. That man is Ron Gonzales and he is the 2012 senior player of the year.

The last one was the big one. Not only did it mean that the person topped the entire field in the 2012 season points race, but it means they had the best season of everyone! It also meant that they would be exempt for the entire 2013 season, which means they would be seeded into every quarter finals for the entire season. It is an incredible prize for an incredible performance. This year's recepient had 2 titles, 3 title match appearances, several semi-final appearances, and made over 80% of all of the quarter finals. He won the points race by a pretty good sized margin, and deservedly so, because he had an unprecedented season. The 2012 player of the year was the man, the myth, the legend, Lynn Arthur! Congrats buddy!
