Glenfair Lanes Results - 07/13/14

Our event this weekend was at Glenfair Lanes. It drew 85 entries, 26 cashers, had a 1 in 3.2 cash ratio and paid out over $6,000.00 in main and side event prizes. The players bowled on a very demanding 42ft Kegel Autobahn oil pattern. However, it seems like most patterns play pretty tough at Glenfair. The players tend to have a hard time with pairs being different from one another. This meant you had to be on top of your game and make sure to throw good shots early in each game so you could make the correct adjustments in time.

Well I really don’t know where to start with this event. It had just about everything you can ask for. Well, besides squads starting on time! I say that jokingly because it was absolutely jammed pack with bowlers on Monday, which ended up pushing us almost an hour behind. We run within 5 minutes of being on time nearly 90% of the time, so this was unusual, but a very good problem. The event broke just about every record you can think of. It had the largest amount of entries (244), largest main event prize fund (over $9,000.00), largest top three prizes ($2,950.00), largest side action payout (over $4,000.00), most amount of bowlers on a single squad (60), most amount of bowlers bowling in their first quarter finals (13) and most amount of new members at an event (30). I am sure there are others but, that tells you how incredible this weekend was.

We had another great weekend with a minor event at Glenfair lanes. The event drew 71 total entries with 42 qualifying entries and 29 economy parlay entries. We also had 20 cashers, a 1 in 3.5 cash ratio and a total payout of of over $5,000 in main and side event payouts.  We had another great turn out and positive response for our minor event format. We had more good signs regarding some of the changes that the members made to start this season. The divisions, once again, had a very balanced number of entries.  Also, some of the top amateurs came out again to compete in the A division. While, the newly eligible haven’t had any success yet, they very well could have in this event. One of the bowlers had a pain staking low game 3, and the other was not in the divisional insurance or they would have advanced.

You are going to want to read this summary. The story that goes a long with this event’s winner is one that won’t happen for quite some time and one I won’t ever forget. It’s at the end of the summary, but it’s incredible. As always, we start off with our turn out and oil pattern recap. The event this weekend drew 117 entries over 6 squads, 33 cashers, a 1 in 3.9 cash ratio and paid out over $5,000.00! There were actually a few other tournaments going on this weekend that a few of our frequent members bowled, and even then there were 117 entries. I think this kind of turn out on the complete other side of town is a good sign that the 2014 additions voted in by the members are being received well by the bowling community. We look forward to seeing what kind of turn out we will get at our next standard event. However, that won’t be until after the SFT AHT family goes to VEGAS!!!! More info on that at the end of the summary!

This weekend was another fun one! We had some unforeseen circumstances arise and forced us to change the location of the event last minute. This didn’t hurt our turn out too much as we had 56 total entries, 18 cashers, a 1 in 3.1 cash ratio and paid out over $2,600.00 in our main tournament prize fund. Our side events created another 17 entries in the sweeper and when combined with our high game pots paid out another $436.00! As always, even with a quick location change, I want to thank everyone for spreading the word and still getting a decent turn out under the circumstances.
