Glenfair Lanes

Glenfair Lanes - 10/4/20

Our event this weekend was at Glenfair Lanes and it was our first event of our Fall Circuit.  We had a nice turnout with 79 total entries, with 58 qualifying entries and 21 economy parlay entries, and paying out over $4,000 in main and side event prize funds.  The players bowled on a very difficult 47ft Eiffel Tower pattern that forced players to play the lanes pretty straight due to a lack of friction which comes from such a long oil pattern. It seemed like players of all styles could find a line. If they were more speed dominant, they were right of the 3rd arrow pointing it at the pocket. As the player became more and more rev dominant, they would play the lanes further and further left, but still be aiming at the pocket.

Glenfair Lanes - 5/25/2020

It was only about 9 days ago that we spoke with Glenfair Lanes and decided we were going to try having the Memorial Day major event. Of course we were worried about a laundry list of things. Some obvious things like concerns around COVID and if we’d even have a large enough turn out worth the time and energy of trying. Boy are we glad we took the risk and the challenge on of having the event. The entire weekend felt like a reconnecting and rekindling of many friendships and social circles. The COVID precautions slowly became a thing in the background and many people began to really enjoy being together again and bowling like they used to.

Glenfair Lanes - 9/15/19

Our event this weekend was at Glenfair Lanes and we unfortunately had one of the lowest turn outs  we hvae seen in a very long time. We had 46 total entries with 25 qualifying entries and 21 economy parly entries. We paid out just around $2,000.00 in main and side event prize fund for the event. We also saw Momma's Mystery hit for $500 by Jim Montgomery! Congrats to Jim! The players bowled on a the 47ft Eiffel Tower oil pattern that had pretty medium scores for the day. For the most part, players were in the middle of the lane or keeping thier angles fairly tight because of the longer oil pattern.

The quarter finals was on fresh as usual and the scoring was a little lower. After the 3 games were finished Carlos Vejar was the A division champion, Ron McDonald the B division champion and Willy Vuong the C diviosn champion. Willy would be looking for his first title in his 2nd title match while Ron and Carlos both have several titles looking to take down another one.

Glenfair Lanes - 11/11/18

Our event this weekend was a special one! We not only had a great turnout, but we got to honor one of the greatest SFT members of all time. Our event was at Glenfair lanes and the players bowled on a very difficult 32ft wolf oil pattern that ended up having the lowest cut scores we have ever seen! The average cut was -30! This means if you bowled about 10-15 pins under average per game, you still had a chance to qualify! Short patterns have always been very difficult at this bowling center. For whatever reason, regardless of the oil pattern, the gutters have always been a bit out of play and don't have a lot of reaction off of them. Because of this, shorter oil patterns like Wolf are extremely difficult. The key this weekend was definitely spares! The event drew a total of 86 qualifying entries (64 qualifying entries & 22 economy parlay). It was a great turnout for the holiday!

Glenfair Lanes - 5/28/18

Our event this weekend was a big one! Such a big one that we broke just about every singe event record we had. We had a new entry record of 256 entries (194 qualifying & 62 economy parlay), 73 cashers, a 1 in 3.5 cash ratio and paid out an all time high $11k+ main tournament prize fund and a new high of $7k in side event payouts for a grand total that got close to $20k in total payout. The players bowled on a very difficult 42ft Patriot oil pattern that was a custom pattern for the major event. It had pretty low scores the entire weekend, with players only needing to bowl average to make the cut. It was a longer oil pattern, but the lane surface itself had enough friction that it allowed them to not play too long. The players that seemed to match up the best seemed to hook it a little bit in the middle of the lane, but there were still some straighter players who were able to figure it out and make a run.
