AMF McRay

AMF McRay - 7/24/2022

Our event this weekend was at AMF McRay, and we would have a great turnout. We would have 141 total entries (95 qualifying and 46 economy parlays) with 37 cashers, a 1 in 3.91 cash ratio and paid out over $9,700.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on the 40ft Kegel Highway to Hell oil pattern that played pretty tough for most of the day. There were some higher scores, but bowlers were able to play a variety of angles on this pattern. The key was to leave makeable spares and stay close to even for most of the games. The cut scores stayed around +30 for most of the day, which meant that you had to bowl about just a bit over your average each game to qualify.

AMF McRay - 5/1/22

Our event this weekend was at AMF McRay lanes and had a pretty good turnout for our two-squad event considering that there were so many other tournaments going on this weekend.  We would see 124 total entries (84 qualifying and 40 economy parlays) with 32 total cashers, a 1 in 3.7 cash ratio and paid out over $7,900.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on the very tough 41ft 2021 USBC Nationals Team oil pattern.  This pattern played a bit tricky with bowlers being able to play a variety of angles.  It seemed that the bowlers who were able to repeat their shots and leave makeable spares would see the most success.  The cut for the day would be around +45-50 so bowlers needed to shoot about 5-10 pins over their average per game to advance.

AMF McRay - 11/14/2021

Our event this weekend was at AMF McRay lanes and had a pretty good turnout for a two-squad event considering that we didn’t start until over an hour later than schedule.  The center’s lane machine was having issues and we are thankful for everyone that stayed through the delay.  We had a total of with 82 entries for the event (49 qualifying and 33 economy parlays) and had 24 total cashers, a 1 in 3.41 cash ratio and paid out over $3,900.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on the very tough 44ft PBA Carmen Salvino oil pattern.  The bowlers that were able to keep repeating their shot and leave makeable spares would see the most success.  If you missed just a bit inside or out, then you ended up with a split or a tough spare.  The pattern would be high scoring to start, but has the day went on it seemed that the lanes go tighter.

AMF McRay - 9/19/2021

Our event this weekend was at AMF McRay lanes and had a nice turnout for a two-squad event considering that there was scratch event going on at the same time and also the first Cardinals home game of the year.  We had a total of with 68 entries for the event (41 qualifying and 27 economy parlays) and had 22 total cashers, a 1 in 3.1 cash ratio and paid out over $4,000.00 in main and side event prize fund. The players bowled on the very difficult Kegel 40ft Red Square oil pattern. This is Kegel’s version of the original U.S. Open pattern or the more commonly known PBA Bear oil pattern.  It is a very flat oil pattern that leaves practically no room for error and puts a premium on shot making and spare shooting. Since it’s not an extremely long or short oil pattern, players could play in many different places on the lane.

AMF McRay - 4/18/21

Our event this weekend was at AMF McRay and wow what an unbelievable turnout.  We drew a record breaking 143 total entries (94 qualifying and 49 economy parlay) for only 2 squads.  If you think about it, that was almost the same amount of entries that we had for our last 3 squad event at Bowlero Kyrene a few weeks ago.  We had 38 cashers, a 1 in 3.76 cash ratio and paid out over $7,500.00 in main and side event prize funds.
