All-Time

Brunswick Kyrene - 8/9/15

This event was an awesome one! We had all kinds of exciting finishes and firsts. The event had 82 entries (49 qualifying entries and 33 economy parlay entries), 21 cashers, a 1 in 3.9 cash ratio and paid out over $3,000.00 in main and side event prizefunds. The players bowled on the 40ft Brunswick Edge pattern that had some very interesting results. The scores for the entire tournament were much higher in the A division then any other division. Typically this is the opposite as the scores are usually higher in either the B or C divisions. However, scoring well on the pattern had a lot to do with playing the correct part of the lane which most of the A division bowlers seemed to be doing. However, the cut was also inflated by a very impressive performance that Jason Satterlee put on. He had a very nice 846 during qualifying that cemented that he was bouncing back from his slump and looking to win back to back events.

Glenfair Lanes Results - 3/22/15

We had another fun and exciting event this weekend at Glenfair Lanes. There were a lot of other events going on this weekend so the turnout was a little lower than usual, but that didn’t stop us from having a great time! The event drew 65 entries (42 qualifying entries and 23 economy parlay), had 18 cashers a 1 in 3.5 cash ratio and paid out over $3,000.00 in main and side event prizes! The players bowled on a 45ft Kegel Route 66 pattern that proved to have fairly medium scoring. Most people could not play further out and the longer pattern forced people to play closer to third arrow. Straighter players could still do well, but they had to be straight at third arrow instead of first arrow. It was hard to argue that the lefties didn’t have good reaction since we had an all lefty final match!

AMF Chandler Results - 8/16/2015

We had another fun weekend of bowling at AMF Chandler lanes this Sunday! The event drew 80 entries (51 qualifying, 29 economy parlay), had 23 cashers, a 1 in 3.5 cash ratio and paid out over $3,000.00 in main and side event prizefund. The players bowled on a custom 36ft SFT Sahara oil pattern that was one of the highest scoring patterns we have ever used. The members are used to the lanes being fairly difficult most of the time, so we surprised them with a higher scoring condition this Sunday. There is also a skill required to stay focused when it is easy to strike, and this weekend's conditions really tested that skill for the bowlers. We had two perfect games bowled, and a 298! The perfect scores were from Shane Valleau and Brad Van Sickle. Shane's 300 was with a Track ball, which thanks to our sponsor, Track bowling products, he gets a free Track ball for doing so. He was using the Lx05, which is one of his favorite balls on shorter patterns. Congrats Shane!

Riverside Results - 3/28/15

We had an awesome weekend in Laughlin for our annual Laughlin trip to get out down and bowl some tournaments with some new friends! Both events had more entries and local support this year then last year. We are excited to have already scheduled are return to Laughlin in 2016! We will be coming back on the same weekend in March in 2016 and will be using the same type of formats that we used this year! The criss cross doubles drew 26 teams, had 7 cashing teams and paid out nearly $1,000.00 in main and side event prizes. The Riverside Championship event on Sunday, used a Minor event format, had 41 entries (31 qualifying and 10 economy parlay), 12 cashers, a 1 in 3.4 cash ratio and paid out over $2,000.00 in main and side event prizes.

Flagstaff Results - 8/30/15

Well our weekend in Flagstaff was another great one! We started it off with a fun Criss Cross doubles event on Saturday afternoon, followed up with a nice SFT dinner get together at Outback Steakhouse later that night. Then it was all capped off with our big Flagstaff minor event that featured a guaranteed first place price of $600.00. Both events were bowled on the 44ft Shark oil pattern, but they definitely played much different on Sunday than Saturday.

We got to meet all kinds of new bowlers this weekend also. We want to welcome Michael Kelley, Kyle Thoma, Eric Richards, Rochelle Richards, Tyler Hailey, Ruben Redhair, Cody Peterson, and William Decker to the SFT AHT family. We are always excited for all of the new people we get to meet when we go to new areas. We also want to congratulate Cody Peterson and Tyler Hailey on advancing to the quarter finals of the Minor event in their first ever event! Great bowling guys!

Brunswick Kyrene Results - 4/12/15

We had another great turnout at Brunswick Kyrene Lanes this weekend. The event drew 79 total entries, 55 qualifying and 24 economy parlay. It also had 19 cashers, a 1 in 4.1 cash ratio and paid out over $3,000 in main and side event prize funds. Due to the turn out we were able to increase the prize fund from the advertised guarantees from top to bottom. The low to cash was increased from $80 to $100, semi’s from $160 to $175 and the top three spots all increased $100 to $300, $400 and $700. We are excited to see the turnouts for these minor events continuing to be great.

Labor Day Results - 9/7/15

These big 3-day major events are always the most anticipated and exciting events of the year. They always feature the largest fields, hardest patterns, biggest prize funds and exciting finishes. This event was no exception with 237 entries, 63 cashers, a 1 in 3.8 cash ratio, and paid out over $10,000.00 in main and side event prizes. It also was one of the most difficult patterns we have ever used. Many days it resulted in cut scores that didn’t event require bowlers to bowl their average. Players that were bowling slightly below their average for series were advancing to the quarter finals. The pattern used was the 38ft Alcatraz pattern that is a new pattern released by Kegel during bowl expo. It was pretty flat, and what made it hard wasn’t that it was hard. I know that sounds silly, but what made it hard was that it was deceptive. If a pattern looks hard, you mentally prepare for it. This pattern looked pretty playable at times.

Brunswick Desert Sky Results 4/19/15

Our event this weekend was at Brunswick Desert Sky, and like most times, the SFT AHT family came together and had a good time! The event drew 84 total entries (67 qualifying entries and 17 economy parlay entries), had 27 cashers, a 1 in 3.1 cash ratio and paid out over $4,000.00 in main and side event prize fund. The players bowled on the 40ft PBA Earl Anthony oil pattern that yielded fairly low scores. The pattern did seem to work better for players that could play it straighter and stay out of trouble.

Glenfair Lanes Results - 9/13/15

Our event this weekend was at Glenfair Lanes this Sunday. We had 52 total entries (32 qualifying entries and 20 economy parlay), 13 cashers, a 1 in 4 cash ratio and paid out over $2,000.00 in main and side event prize fund. The players bowled on the Kegel Route 66 oil pattern which tends to have medium to high scoring at Glenfair Lanes. The players were happy to have something a little easier after battling each other on the brutal Alcatraz pattern last weekend. This pattern is long, but on the high friction lane surface at Glenfair lanes it plays quite a bit dryer and allows straighter players to still do well, even though it is a longer oil pattern.
