2015 Tournament Results

Golden Pin Lanes Results - 9/20/15

We had our event this Sunday at Golden Pin lanes in Tucson, AZ. We were very happy to be back in Tucson as we have consistently tried to get more and more bowlers in Tucson to come out to our annual events there in their area. The turn out was much better then our last one there. It drew 43 total entries (31 qualifying entires and 12 economy parlay) had 13 cashers, and paid out over $2,000.00.

The bowlers competed on the 36ft Bejing oil pattern which yielded incredibly high scores in the A division but, not as high in the other divisions. This is a common theme with short oil patterns, as the higher averaged bowler is familiar with and more comfortable playing the far outside part of the lane. It is always interesting seeing how different kinds of patterns yielded higher cut scores in certain divisions.

Brunswick Via Linda Results - 10/4/15

Our event this Sunday was at Brunswick Via Linda lanes and was bowled on the 36ft Phase 1 oil pattern. It was a great day for bowling with the rain, and the turn out showed it. There was 59 total entries (45 qualifying entries & 14 economy parlay entries), 16 cashers a 1 in 4.3 cash ratio and paid out over $3,000.00. The players played the Phase 1 oil pattern in a variety of ways. Phase 1 has always played a little different then the other short patterns that we bowl on. No matter which center we have used this pattern at, the middle of the lane has been more playable then other short patterns like cheetah, boardwalk, or wolf.

AMF Deer Valley Results - 10/11/15

This event had a lighter turnout which meant that the players would have a pretty good chance at winning the $1,000.00 first place prize. The event had 45 entries (31 qualifying entries and 14 economy parlay), 13 cashers, a 1 in 3.4 cash ratio and paid out over $2,000.00 in main and side event prizes. The players ended up bowling on a 45ft pattern that played harder than the players expected. While there were a few players that scores out of the roof, the scoring was on the higher side, but not as high as anticipated. It was also a good thing, as players of all skill levels were able to succeed on the pattern as it was playable from all angles.

Brunswick Kyrene Results - 10/25/15

Our event this Sunday was at Brunswick Kyrene lanes on the very difficult 40ft Bear oil pattern. As expected the scoring was very low, with players easily making the cut if they bowled their average. Most players that did well were players that didn't belly the ball a whole lot. Most of the players that did well were the players that were good spare shooters compared to the other players in their division.

As always we like to congratulate our parlay power players, which at this event were Ted McKay and Dylan Taylor. Also congrats to Chase Nesvig who made it to this first ever SFT AHT quarter finals at this event. Also, Mike Hodge made his very first title match where he had a pretty good showing to almost win his first title.

The quarter finals had Dylan Taylor coming out of the A division. Ben Spencer beating Ted McKay by a very narrow margin to be the B division champion, and Mike Hodge defeating everyone in the C division.

Brunswick Desert Sky Results - 11/1/2015

Our event this Sunday was at Brunswick Desert Sky lanes. We had a good turnout with 60 entries (41 qualifying and 19 economy parlay), 15 cashers, a 1 in 4 cash ratio and paid out nearly $3,000.00 in main and side event prizefund. The players bowled on a very difficult 39ft Viper oil pattern. The scores were very low with practially no one doing a lot of striking, and the key to doing well being spares and mental focus. Most of the players that did well were straigther players, who were mentally tough and good spare shooters.

We want to welcome Sean and Jeremy Warren to the SFT AHT family. We are always excited to have new members and humbled to know that we are still getting new members at every event. A special congrats to Jeremy Warrent who made it to his first ever SFT AHT quarter finals in his first event. He beat his dad Sean by only 4 pins the first squad but re-entered and bowled a huge set to advance to the quarter finals.

Let It Roll Results - 11/8/15

This Sunday the players bowled on the 44ft Shark oil pattern that played pretty long and pretty difficult for just about everyone. Those with slower ball speeds liked the lanes a little bit better, as those that threw it hard had a hard time getting the ball to react. All in all, like in many cases, it came down to spare shooting and overall mental toughness. The event had 40 total entries (25 qualifying entires & 15 economy parlay entries), 12 cashers, a 1 in 3.4 cash ratio and paid out a little over $1,500.00 in main and side event prizefund.

Glenfair Results 11/15/15

Our event was at Glenfair Lanes this Sunday. We had 51 entries (15 economy parlay entries and 36 qualifying entries), 16 cashers, a 1 in 3.18 cash ratio and paid out over $2,000.00 in main and side event prizefund. The pattern for this event was the 35ft Cheetah oil pattern, which is normally a high scoring pattern, but this Sunday it wasn't. Also, oddly enough, the A division had the highest cut scores, which is also uncommon. The average cut score for the event was around +60/+70, but the A division took +117 to advance to the quarter finals. Most of the players that scored well played near the gutter in some way, as the middle of the lane was very dry.

AMF Chandler Results - 11/29/15

The players bowled on a customer SFT oil pattern called the Rattler at this weekend' event at AMF Chandler Lanes. The pattern was 38ft and had plenty of hook to it, but changed quite a bit through out the day and "bit" some of the players from time to time. Most of the players that did well, did hook it a little bit and didn't play it like the traditional short pattern. However, there were some players who were able to play close to the gutter and do well, but this time they were the exception. The scores were much higher then usual though, with the average cut score in each division being around +125.

Flipside Results - 12/6/15

It's hard to believe, but it was our final event of the 2015 season! It definitely didn't disappoint! We crowned tournament champions, season champions and saw exciting finishes. The players bowled on the 39ft Winding Road oil pattern that really allowed people to play a variety of places on the lane. The straighter players seemed to struggle a bit more, but there were some that still made it to the quarter finals. It appeared the best line was a small belly in the 15 to 8 range.
